By bringing together MPs, campaigners, donors, and Conservatives from across the British Pakistani community and the Conservative Family, CFOP will become a one-stop shop between Pakistan and the UK. A new generation of British Pakistani voters are more and more finding their voice and a home within the Conservative Party. The Foreign and Commonwealth dinner at JW Marriott was a grand and memorable evening that started with traditional Dhol drums music, characteristic of Rami Ranger CBE, Chair of the Commonwealth Dinner. He paid special tribute to Zameer Choudrey CBE, Chairman Conservative Friends of Pakistan for his contribution in making the event a success. The Chairman of the Conservative Party, Rt Hon BrandonLewis was seated with the guests of Conservative Friends of Pakistan and shared d...etails of his fantastic visit to Islamabad and meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and the President of Pakistan. HE Mohammed Nafees Zakaria also graced the event.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Dinner was well attended by MPs, High Commissioners of Commonwealth countries, Conservative party supporters and the business and commonwealth trading community. Silence was observed to show solidarity with France and SriLanka in the wake of recent tragic events. Lady Bates raised a toast to HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
Guest of honour, the Foreign Secretary of State Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt’s speech was pertinent and profound and spoke volumes about the amazing work of Great Britain around the world and how it still creates positive progress through its relations with the Commonwealth countries. He reminded the guests that United Kingdom promoted the same great values in the Commonwealth countries that it stood for.....the values of freedom, fairness, democracy, human rights, respect for all communities, sustainable development, good health and peace & prosperity for all.

Cabinet Minister & Chairman of the UK Conservative Party Visits Pakistan
The Right Honourable Brandon Lewis MP, British Cabinet Minister & Chairman of the UK Conservative Party visited Islamabad on the April 15, 2019 at the invitation of Chairman of Conservative Friends of Pakistan and CEO of Bestway Group, Zameer Choudrey CBE SI Pk, for meetings with the President, Prime Minister, and other senior Government ministers of Pakistan.
Mr. Lewis also took time to visit Faisal Mos...que, the Pakistan Monument, and had a working lunch with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce.
During his meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Mr. Lewis discussed the UK’s longstanding relationship with Pakistan based on shared values and a commitment to economic development and mutual prosperity.
The thriving partnership between our two nations focuses primarily on trade and investment, the importance of which has been reinforced in the meetings Mr Lewis has had during his visit.
During these meetings, Mr. Lewis also noted that the Pakistani diaspora in the UK is a powerful economic force and a valued part of the fabric of British society. Mr. Lewis agreed with the Prime Minister, Imran Khan, when he said that irrespective of the UK’s exit from the European Union, there is excellent potential to strengthen established trade and investment ties between our two countries.
Commenting on his visit, Mr. Lewis said: “I have been delighted to be able to come to Pakistan and meet with the President and Prime Minister to discuss the relationship between the United Kingdom and Pakistan as well as the opportunities available as we leave the European Union and look around the world to expand our trade relations.
The UK and Pakistan have a long and proud shared history and I believe there is a great opportunity to build on this established foundation politically, socially and economically. It is my first visit to Pakistan and I have been astounded by the beauty of the country and the kindness and generosity of its people, I very much look forward to returning in the future.”
