If there was a hell on earth, then this place might just be it. My goodness, right from the online application to the submission of documents and collection - horrendous experience. Absolutely horrendous. I am not one to leave reviews, but the magnitude of disgust and annoyance that this institution has generated due to its cumbersome and incredulously difficult processes has prompted me to vent in the form of this review. God help those who have to deal with this office.

This is the worst consulate office ever. Do not go here!! Go someplace else. I had to go at least 5 times just to give them my passport application. It takes me an hour and a half to get here and every time I had to come empty handed. There is no customer service. The receptionists are horrible and so is the place where they process applications. They do not know what they are doing. On their application it says we notorize for 10 pounds and upon going there they returned us saying get it done by a lawyer. Then I got it done by a lawyer, and the lady goes I don't know if its correct, I guess it must be cuz its stamped by a lawyer. I go again they go we are on break for an hour or so, come back after 2 pm, I come back after this time and they go we can't process it because its after 2 pm. I'm trying to go again...this is the 6th time.

I was at their office in Birmingham without appointment and my experience was amazing. Staff was very helpful, I was given right advice and staff was very courteous and cooperative. There was one document missing and I had to go back with the missing document next day. It is sad to see the negative comments by people who would not dare say a word when they have to wait for upto 9 hours in hospitals A & E or in the dole queue. The negative comments will trace back to people who came without completed documents.

Applied for a Indian visa having a Pakistani background. was initially told that its a 8 week process. 90 days later received a text to collect my passport. opened up the envelope and no visa. no explanation as to why at all. I can only say its down to my mother being from Pakistan. How can we ever improve neighbouring relationships with this kind of mentalities.

I have been to this place 3 times for different reasons and every time I had best experience. Staff is really nice and supportive as long as you have genuine reason. Definitely some improvements required for online services but it's not that bad either.

To anyone using this service I would recommend confirming everything very solidly (maybe in writing or double checking with numerous different people or using the guides online) and not just taking someone's word for something because you can't base any solid plans on what someone tells you here.

I haven't used the online system so cannot comment on the website issues people are describing here.

What I CAN say for sure is that the staff here are some of the most helpful and accommodating people I have ever met. On the two occasions we have been here they have gone out of the way to help us out. I feel very grateful to them for being so compassionate and understanding when they were in no way obliged to be. Hats off.

Oh dear! apparently a technologically advanced nation that doesn't even maintain a responsive website. The online appointment booking system is a joke. The webpage asks for certain details that don't match up with what is required. Frustrating to say the least.

I had heard a lot bad about this consulate. I and my wife applied for OCI. I got it within 5 weeks. My wife had to attend interview. I met Mr. Rajiv Kumar and he was more than helpful. Her visa was issued a week later. I can only praise Mr. Rajiv Kumar. Thank you Sir.
