Dear Sir / Madame,

I purchased a NISSAN X-Trail Brand New 2016 Hybrid T32 vehicle from AMW (Associated Motorways (PVT) Limited on 11 July 2016 at a price of Sri Lankan Rupees 11,500,000.00.

At the driven mileage of 10,662km there was a warning message as “HV SYSTEM WARM UP – PLEASE WAIT IN PARK”

I contacted the vehicle's sales agent in Sri Lanka; AMW and they asked me to send the vehicle to their service centre as soon as possible. I was on a family reunion tour for 07 days but I had to cancel last three nights and handover the vehicle at 11,066km to AMW for repairing.

After three days AMW called me and said the vehicle needs to replace with anew CVT and they will import it from Japan and fix within 03 weeks. However, they did not mention or inform me regarding the technical issue. I found the error codes from one of my friends working at the same company.

The error codes were; P0775, P0776 - OBD-II - Pressure Control Solenoid B Performance / Malfunction.

AMW did not send or disclose any details regarding the mechanical errors of the CVT even if I requested it for several times. As the customer I have the right to know what issue was there in the CVT of a NISSAN brand new vehicle?

After four weeks of time they gave me a courtesy vehicle but I lost many of the important aspects my business and personal life due to the unavailability of my vehicle for four weeks.

AMW contacted me on 13 June, 2017 and requested to collect my vehicle and return the courtesy vehicle but, they still do not provide me the technical details or scanned reports of the error caused by the Brand New X Trail.

They also do not provide me the details for replaced Brand New CVT which they have (said) imported from Japan. They have only given me a serial number of replaced CVT.

As a brand loyal customer I have the right to know about my vehicle, it’s failures, it’s newly replaced CVT’s details in black and white.

I have lost my trust on NISSAN x trail vehicle since AMW has cheated me on the replaced CVT.

I’m sure that they have not replaced a new CVT through manufacturer (Japan). They have just put a reconditioned CVT and they have cheated their customer.

Now they want me to pay for the courtesy vehicle; LKR 5000 per day and parking fees for my X Trail; LKR 500 per day.

This is AMW's customer service. Then I wrote to Nissan Co. Japan and requested their help and advices to get the confirmation on aforesaid imported CVT and extend the warranty for new CVT but Nissan Japan replied and suggested to deal with local agent as they cannot do anything further even if they are the Nissan manufacturer.

Please help me to stand for my rights as a customer. Me and my family is under a tremendous stress due to this matter and we realize that AMW has disregard our human rights.

I need to put a complaint at Consumers International regarding this.

Your kind advices would be appreciated.

Hi, I am a tourist who stayed at the B&B Castro Pretorio (hotel), and I wish to report it. My partner and I checked in to this hotel on the 30th on December. On the 31st of December, my partner and I received an email from the hotel saying that we had broken the door handle and lock to our room, and that $187.50 Euros were going to be taken from our card. We were shocked to read this email, as the handle and lock were perfectly fine when we left the hotel at midday, and we did not even close our door, as we left the cleaners fixing our heater. We immediately came back to the hotel to see what was going on, and discovered that they were indeed broken. It looked as if someone had tried to break into our room. We were shocked to see that the hotel staff had left an envelope stuck to the door of our room that said: "to the guest staying in this room, here is the key to go inside", literally inviting anyone who walked past to take the key and steal our belongings. That key was left stuck to our door for hours, and no one gave us the courtesy of giving us a call to inform us. We immediately tried to call the staff (which believe me, is a real issue), since the employee that originally checks you in is never actually at the hotel except in those rare occasions, so when you really need to speak to a staff member there is no one. They only leave you with a phone number written in pick up cards that no one actually answers and sends you to a voice message. After we finally got the employee's personal phone number from another guest, he came to the hotel, but we couldn't speak to him because he doesn't speak a word of English (even though the hotel advertises that it does)!!. The employee called the owner and passed the phone to us. We explained the situation to the owner Aurora, and she assured us that we wouldn't be charged. We found out today that she had actually charged that amount to out credit card, when we didn't even break it!!! This hotel accused us of breaking the lock and door handle with no evidence at all. What's more, we were not the last people to leave our room. When we came back the room had been cleaned and made up, so it is possible that the cleaner broke it and tried to cover up by accusing us. Or if not her, it could be anyone that walked past that broke it. We did not break the door handle or lock, and it is unfair that we have been charged $187.50 euros for something we did not do. Can we please get some advice on what we can do?

Thank you

Can someone please help me!? Bought a pair of white Vans at Sneakers Edition in main rd Hermanus. Please be aware of these 2 owners at Sneakers Edition in main rd Hermanus! They take your money but refuse to refund nor exchange! Washed my tekkies in the washing machine and they went brown and yellow. Phone the owners Jopie and Wife Debbie, she told me they must be hand washed and I must put mazhina on to get the marks out. Seriously! ? After paying R600 I must spend more time and money on cleaning my shoes!? Shocking! Post my shoes up as we live in Cape Town. My mother in law took it to them after I send them photos and demanding my money back. Debbie refused to refund my mother in law. After being informed on Monday already that its being post up and my mother in law will bring it in. They made my 65 year old mother in law drive into town knowing they not going to refund me. Absolutely no respect! Im beyond disgusted and disappointed in both owners Debbie and Jopie. In my honest opinion you are stealing from innocent people. Its your problem to sort it out by your Vans suppliers. Not for a customer to suffer . People please think before buying there and be aware of how quick they are to make it your problem! Even Vans themselves isnt helping!
