Very busy week - Scourfields for my weekly visit, trial mixes for Ridge Concrete, sampling and air tests for Accumix Concrete, block testing for last week's S.Morris trials and working on a special project for Pavestone 👌

Calibration for Central Readymix today. Calibrated for 10mm & 20mm concrete + screed. Big thanks to Dean Marsden for helping out with the labour

Out early this morning collecting aggregate and cement samples for trials. The company secretary came along for the ride 😁

Quality improving all the time here at Scourfields and a record production yesterday. In addition, the testing regime has been improved and everything is now reaching ultimate strength at 7 days. Next week we will be looking to produce a management system for the sale and extraction of raw materials along with visiting a few of those lost customers to build confidence once again in Scourfield products.

Introducing capping factors today at Thomas Scourfield & Sons, this will build a direct correlation between the commonly used fibre-board test and the test method specified by the British standard. This will give a minimum of 10% extra strength over the fibre-board test method.

Back with NB Wood yesterday to check slump and yield on the mixes we created for them, pleased to say all is well and Nick now has complete confidence in his truck 👍

Been with a new client for the last two days, they gave me a call last week after quality has been dropping off over the past few years and the business has lost important customers. I have been brought in on a weekly basis to assist with all aspects of quality for the business.. from aggregate extraction right up to technical back-up for the sales team and getting those important customers back.... lets turn this around!!!

Back at Bekstone today for the next stage of trials... fingers crossed for handling on Wednesday 🤞

Calibration today for Nick Wood, currently unhappy with a previous calibration so he gave Contech a call. Calibration completed and a revamp of mix designs to be completed this week.

Good 1st day at S.Morris today, looking to bring 5 new offerings into their product range

Back at Sheehan's today for test results and conclusion to last week's work. We have a base for a Lightweight block, quality improved on Dense with a significant strength increase and cost decrease... so much so that they are now able to produce a 10.4N Block with less cement than their previous 7.3N.. needless to say the Managing Director was more than happy and I'm back in there next month for the next stage 👌

First day at Bekstone yesterday - improving block weight and looking to increase early strength for handling purposes. Big things to come for Bekstone... watch this space
