About Contour Architectural

Contour has been shaping and forming metal into complex structures for architectural and restoration projects for more than 40 years. Our traditional craftsmanship is still very much in demand today. We were chosen by Heatherwicke Studios to fabricate aluminium double-curvature sections for their Maggie's Leeds project. We previously hand crafted the petals for Heatherwick's London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Cauldrons. Working closely with engineering and scenic specialists, Stage One, we shaped the petals from sheet copper using a range of traditional tools and techniques including a specially-modified version of our own wheeling machine. Prior to this project our skills were employed on the complex aluminium bow section of Millimetre Ltd's award-winning A Room for London. This project involved the shaping of aluminium panels using our unique power hammer to create the large double-curvature structure. It was then assembled using 1, 400 rivets. If your next project needs specialist sheet-metal shaping, large or small speak to Contour Architectural today.
