Coo-Gar Martial Arts - A Registered Club with the British Karate Assosiation and World Martial Arts Council.
Under the instruction of Sensei Peter Cooney 8th Dan Coo-Gar along with The Fellowship in the International Guild of Masters.

In this group not only do we study Karate, we also study an element of Kung Fu and Ju-Jitsu.

This is the best way to learn how to defend yourself, boost your confidence and improve your fitness.

As you progress, there will be opportunities for you to take part in tournaments.

1971 - Wado-Kai Karate, Instructor Mr. D Lawrenson at St. Paul's.
1972 - Mr. T Pitock, Hull Y. P. I
1973 - Mr. T Burwell, Hull Y. P. I
1974 - Mr. P Chin, Hull University = Granted 1st Dan in 1975.

1972 - Along with Mr. T Burwell and Mr. C. R Alan I trained in the art of Feng-Sau Kung Fu with Mr. Chee-Soo for 5 years of the Wu-Shu of China = Granted 3rd Pan 1976.

1976 - Ju-Jitsu Kyusho, Instructor Mr. N Sangwin. Yee-Foung-Do instructor Mr. C. R. Alan of the United Fighting Art's Association = Granted 1st Dan Ju-Jitsu 06 /09 /1981.
Granted 1st Black sash Kung-Fu 14 /02 /1982

1982 - Opened own school "The Hung-Fa" at the Cavendish Road School, Hull within the United Martial Arts Association - Granted 2nd Dan Coo-Gar 28 /10 /1983.

The Nippon Budo-Kai, Japan, Mr. N Sangwin. Mr. B Clark. Mr. G. S Bertozinni. Mr. M Inove = Granted 3rd Dan 28 /10 /1985 Coo-Gar.
Granted 4th Dan, Coo-Gar 27 /10 /1992

1987 - Granted the rank of level two coach by the Martial Arts Commission and the Sports Council 1987.

The British Karate Association granted 4th Dan Coo-Gar 14 /02 /1992

1990 - The World Martial Arts Council. As I have obtained 6 Dan grades within the arts of Karate, Ju-Jitsu and Kung-Fu, the council granted 5th Dan Coo-Gar for my thirty-four years immersed in the arts in 1992.
Granted 6th Dan 1998.
Granted 7th Dan 2006.
