Padmaja (Paddy) Kochera is a Civil Engineer by profession and is also a chef and food writer. She loves home cooking and has an infectious enthusiasm for authentic Indian cuisine.

She was a winner on the BBC 2 programme Step Up to the Plate in 2008 which challenged the talents of upcoming chefs against Paul Rankin and John Burton Race.

Having spent her childhood eating authentic Indian food, Padmaja’s cooking style is simple, authentic and flavoursome. Her experimental style incorporates trying new techniques and methods to provide her own twist on traditional Indian recipes.

Padmaja teaches at a number of cookery schools in Essex and Suffolk and showcases her signature dishes and unique Indian cooking at food shows and food fairs across East Anglia. www. cookwithpadmaja. co. uk
