Cool Of The Wild Description
WHAT WE OFFER & WHERE
You will spend five days staying on the breath-taking Rame Peninsular, known as 'The Forgotten Corner of Cornwall’ in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Guided by our experienced team of local fully insured instructors and activity leaders you will immerse yourself in the Cornish outdoors whilst trying your hand at new pursuits like stand up paddle-boarding, music, meditation, foraging and wild cookery, pottery, storytelling, team building and many more. . .
We offer Glamping accommodation (posh camping) based on two people sharing. Guests will stay in a Bell tent and staff will share a Yurt, which has cooking facilities and is lockable. We also have a larger communal bell tent for dining and relaxing. We provide tasty wholesome breakfast, lunch and evening meals each day.
The campsite offers hot water showers (payable on site), toilets, a cafe run by ex River Cottage chef Nick, an awesome pub which is a music venue and various art galleries on site.
A short 10 minute walk away you will find the bygone smugglers villages and beaches of Kingsand and Cawsand. There are four pubs, village store, gift shop, post office, art galleries and cafes.
We are only a 3. 5 hour train journey from London and we can arrange pick ups from Plymouth or St Germans upon request.
Whether the sun is shining or the day is grey, this magical part of the world is absolutely stunning and we feel it's the perfect place to be at one with nature.
ABOUT US, WHAT WE DO AND WHY
Natalie was a support worker at an inner city Residential and Outreach home for 3 years. During her time, she wished to organise a group outdoor activity holiday but found there were none offering this with creative arts involved specifically for adults with ASD. So she had no choice but to organise her own and after found the results astounding!
Geoff has a long professional background in music and arts. He has worked alongside people with ASD in these roles and seen first hand the amazing benefits the arts can bring!
So, putting their creative and caring heads together they set up Cool Of The Wild!
Cool Of The Wild is set in a naturally Ecotherapeutic environment which allows guests the time to find their own natural rhythm tempo so they can explore their personal relationship with nature, try out new exciting experiences, bond with fellow housemates and hopefully make some new friends.
We design our breaks specifically for adults with high functioning ASD and Aspergers (and their Support Workers) from inner city Residential and Outreach homes across the UK. Giving them a chance to immerse yourself in nature.
Sadly due to limited facilities we can't, at present, offer a place to anyone who requires personal care.
We hope to provide you with a creative and tranquil haven, somewhere you will feel as happy and comfortable as can be. Basically, your well being is our mission!
