Cornwall is a popular holiday destination and for good reason. Copper Cottage is ideally located to visit many of the top tourist attractions in the county. Here are some suggestions for days out.

St Ives – has been described as the dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown. A picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town voted best family holiday destination by Coast magazine and one of TripAdvisor’s top 10 European beaches. St Ives is a subtropical paradise of palm trees and golden sands where fun and adventure are at every turn.

St Michael’s Mount - Marazion – Reached on foot at low tide across a causeway, this former medieval monastery has been sensitively restored to show life on the Mount in the 17th century. The chapel has sublime stained glass. The seaward gardens are a peaceful refuge on a busy summer’s day. A ferry service is available at hight tide.

The Eden Project – Dubbed the Eighth Wonder of the World by some, the Eden Project is a dramatic global garden housed in tropical biomes that nestle in a crater the size of 30 football pitches. There are rock concerts in summer and ice-skating in winter. Buying your tickets at tourist information beforehand will save long queuing on arrival.

Geevor Tin Mine - One of Cornwall’s last working tin mines, which closed down in 1990. The knowledgeable, enthusiastic guides, some of them former miners, bring the buildings to life with anecdotes of the lives of the miners as they take visitors underground.

The Lizard Peninsula is the most southerly point in the UK. It has dramatic coastal scenery with spectacular views and is an excellent place to visit for those wishing to enjoy some peace and tranquility.

The Minack Theatre is Cornwall's world famous open-air theatre, carved into the granite cliff and set in glorious gardens overlooking the spectacular panorama of Porthcurno Bay.
