You may not believe this, but it was the British that introduced chillies to India. Chillies originated from South America. Before chillies were introduced people in the Indian sub-continent used black pepper extensively in their cooking.
Since their introduction, their popularity has crept into many of the modern ‘authentic’ Indian dishes. The influence of the British upon Indian food is therefore quite substantial and Indian food today is very different to what was cooked over 240 years ago, pre-colonisation.

Fact: In Northern parts of India, people tend to rely on red ‘n’ green chilies, saffron, yogurt are among most commonly used ingredients. Ghee (clarified butter) is most essential ingredient of any north Indian dish which is full of fats but still considered healthy adding amazing taste to the food.

Interesting fact: Indian restaurants in Britain serve about 2.5 million customers every week.

“Fabulous meal” “Fabulous meal” 15 September 2013 NEW Have been going to the Copper Pot for a good few years now and have never had a bad meal. This place is great for any occasion (birthdays, New Year, etc.)
... The Copper Pot offers fantastic customer service; All of the staff are so helpful and can never do enough for you. The food on the other hand is absolutely beautiful, every single dish I've had there has been excellent.
Going tonight for my mum's birthday. Looking forward to another lovely meal.

Weve visited here a few times the food is always fab, hot and tasty staff helped hubby choose a new curry to try and he really liked it kids also enjoyed their meals the staff are really friendly would reccommend to anyone who loves indian food!

Was recommended to us and it was well worth the visit,staff and service was prompt and efficient and very courteous,The food was very tasty probably one of the best Indian meals we have had keep up the good work and please don't drop your standards.

Visited as a big group, they recommended a set price which made collecting money easier and for that we had poppadoms, mixed selection of starters and our own choice of mains with plentiful rice and naan. Food was tasty, service good and s great evening.

Tonight me and my husband went for a meal here for the first time, the service was exceptionally good and the food was obviously fresh and tasted amazing, the meat melted in our mouths. We most definitely will be going again and we will be recommending the Copper Pot to all our family and friends

My husband and I go to the Copper regular because we love the service from all the lovely staff they are very polite and helpful, the atmosphere is calming having said that we always go early evening when it is not to busy, the food is always good and hot, you have a good variety food menu they also make it to your taste and the beer is good also, can't wait till our next visit.

I travel 6 miles at least once a week because I like my Indian food and in my opinion this is the best Indian restaurant for miles. I pass many others Indian restaurants because the food is delicious, the service and the atmosphere are delightful.

I always have a great curry at the Copper pot, very friendly staff and lovely surroundings.

Go to copper pot regular and never had a bad meal. Staff very good. Sid and his team are all ways nice and very helpful. Will be going again very soon.

Been coming here for years and still loving the experience. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the food tastes amazing and the price is reasonable for what you get. They even give you a free glass of bubbly after your meal - Brilliant.

The food was good but the portions that they give has shrunk especially the chicke chat starter was very small to what I have had there before So the food was of good quality but portions small

Been a lot always enjoyed the food I must say this time the service was not so good no smiles and slow asked 3 times for the bill . apart from the manager\ owner he is always very nice and friendly .

Starter was tasteless naan bread over cooked but the curry was lovely. First time visiting will possibly try again. One of the waiters was abrupt. Also as soon as we had finished starters the main was put in front of us.

5 of us went Saturday night for a family meal.

Service was ok if a little slow. Had to change some of the eating utensils as they hadn't been cleaned properly (food stuck to the forks).

Part of our main course was missing and took 10 mins to arrive to the table.

The atmosphere was nice the staff are friendly. Would we go again? ... possibly but not sure.

Rubbish service waited 30 mins + for a seat booked in as well 2 other family’s walked in got seated straight away horrible
