I stayed for 1 night and honestly couldn’t fault it. At check in the guy was very friendly and efficient it literally took just a couple of minutes, my room was great very clean with a well stocked mini bar the bed was very comfortable (double) I arrived late evening and had steak for tea which was cooked just as I asked, the waitress was very warm and friendly. For breakfast I had bacon with scrambled eggs with a pot of tea. Check out was very quick - I would recommend this hotel for me it ticked all the boxes.

I came with a fairly large group and we were looked after amazingly well.

We had some very awkward meal requests and they went out of their way to assist us. Every member of staff was smiling and helpful. Lucaz (sorry about the spelling) was a particular superstar in his attentive service and really made our evening.

The food was also delicious.

Thank you so much

Came this evening to meet with 6 friends some of us have had weight loss surgery , staff in the restaurant couldnt do enough to meet our dietary needs and was an enjoyable meal , as this can sometimes cause us anxiety when dining out after surgery, bar and reception staff helpful and friendly also

Booked afternoon tea for my friend's 60th birthday as a treat. The staff were very pleasant and polite. Afternoon tea was lovely! Fresh cut sandwiches, super sweet treats, prosecco and tea. Couldn't fault it. I had gluten free, which is usually hit and miss, but my selection was just as good as my friend's 'normal' selection. The staff made it extra special for my friend by presenting her with a little cake / candle and singing happy birthday! We had a lovely afternoon, thank you Copthorne hotel.

An excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a very relaxing overnight stay.

Went for afternoon tea yesterday, ( living social deal). On arrival staff at reception very friendly, shown to a table overlooking the quays, the waitress looked after us,asking whether we wanted tea/ coffee or prosecco first , then a short while later she brought out a wonderful array of finger sandwiches, macaroons, brownies, tarts and scones. It was all delicious and I highly recommend it.

Stayed at the Copthorne hotel on a work trip and is a lovely hotel. My only complaint was the rooms were hot and there was no air conditioning but too be honest it’s not hot normally in Manchester ! The staff were excellent and I met up with some friends from Manchester and we had dinner and the manager was very accommodating to my friends with their dietary requirements and Lucas was amazing ! The food was really good and it was lovely to sit overlooking the quay ! A very nice hotel thank you

Really enjoyable afternoon tea, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was yummy

In fairness the comments around the dated rooms have some substance but for the money I (my company) paid it was more than ok. Great location with a restricted menu but if you eat between 5-7 you received 20% off an already reasonably priced menu. Starter main and large glass of red 🍷 for less than £20. Some good banter with one of your staff, asking me for ID at the bar when I turn 50 next month ✔️✔️ I’d go back, what more can I say

User

I thought it was good value for money - clean but service was a bit slow and all over the place

Stayed here for one night for an office night out. On the whole it was an ok hotel. The rooms are a bit dated and tatty in places. Room was warm enough and bed very comfy. Plenty hot water and a decent shower too. Breakfast was good with a help yourself service. Staff really friendly and super efficient.

Stayed 2 nights 4th 5th April. My room was ok a little tired looking but comfy. Staff were all friendly both on check in and in the restaurant.

However this is where my only gripe is..... after finishing my main course it took 25 minutes for my desert to arrive. I wouldn't mind but there was only 6 people dining in total in the restaurant, how long does it take to put an Eton mess together

Nothing negative to say about the staff who were friendly and efficient. The hotel is rated as 4 star but in reality is lower than that. As other people have commented on the rooms need attention. There was only a portable air con unit in our room which was noisy when turned on so you have the choice of stifling hot or not sleeping. As we were attending a concert at nearby Old Trafford the hotel was full and charged top rates (£180) for the one night. If coming again I would look to book somewhere better. To be honest you expect more of a Copthorne. I would Tate this hotel below some of the Premier Inn’s I have stayed in

After trying to give me a single room after booking a double the staff thought it was unfair I was refusing to stay in a single because I was on my own. I ordered steak in the restaurant medium well it came out swimming in blood and the desert was just let. I wouldn’t say it was a dirty place that’s why I’ve given it 2 stars I’m just not looking forward to the next couple of nights there???

The staff are wonderful so if I could give 5 stars to them I would. The hotel is in a lovely location and our room looked over the dock... these are the ONLY good points. The most important note: Copthorne look after your overwork, overwhelmed and underpaid staff.

The hotel is very tired and needs a complete refurb.

The clientele was something from Jeremy Kyle show, uncouth, disgusting, loud mouthed peasants... one woman was even sat in the main bar area, with her filthy bare trotters of feet out for all to see, plus carrying on a rather personal phone call out loud for all to hear, even though the staff had tried a few times to tell her!

No air con and as hot in room the windows had to be open, a group of people sat outside shouting and laughing till 3.45am I was up at 5 to get ready for surgery at 7am... no one stopped them.

Sad to see the Copthorne group have sunk to this level, they used to be a good standard of hotel, if thinking of staying go for a youth hostel

Stayed on 5-1-18 very poor service during breakfast. Absolutely appalling. Waited 10minutes for tea and coffee. Only served when I asked for hot drink. Surly waitress should ask you as you arrive for breakfast. Waited another 8minutes for tea/coffee to arrive. No apologie. Myself and husband when to have buffet breakfast. What a shocker! No bacon, no eggs, no red sauce, no brown sauce, no bread for toast, no orange juice. All had run out and no one was there to replenish the food. 5 members of the public were all waiting around the buffet to have breakfast. I had to walk around the room to find a waitress and asked for all of the food to be replenish. Another 10minutes went by. My husband had his food whilst I went to make toast!!!! Bread was frozen solid. Disgusting.

When I went up for the buffet yet again no eggs and no plates. This was so disappointed , absolutely horrendous service. Had to ask waitress for fried egg again which took ages to cook. Another waitress brought plates. They were cold, placed in a headed holder but plate were cold. Waitress then placed friend egg on my plate. Went to sit down and eat breakfast, egg wasn’t cooked- very slimy. Question is ,did that waitress have food cooking certificate ? Bacon was like rubber. Absolutely disgusting service and breakfast . When sat down there were 6 tables around us that hadn’t been cleaned for the whole time we were there for breakfast. Shocking. After finishing our food the food was left on our table for over 15minutes and more probably as it was still there when we left. Waitress should be collecting finished plates as soon as you finish with them . The waiter/waitresses need to be re trained.

Not one did anyone apologise for the poor service. On this morning 6/1/18 I could hear a few of the customers complaining about various issues.

Stayed here last night, well what can I say definitely not a 4*, checked in and we were very disappointed having booked a club room ( which is just a standard with a mini bar and a free drink )the room was not very clean marks all over the walls, lamp shades broken, smelt of stale cigarettes, carpet marked and tatty furniture. My husband complained to reception and we did get moved to another room that was slightly better but only just. Have stayed in better 3* hotels.. what a shame this hotel is tired and dated and in desperate need of a major refurbishment. Needless to say we won't be using this one again.
