About Coral Cay Conservation

Coral Cay Conservation (CCC) is an award-winning, non-governmental organisation that specialises in the organisation of community-based coral reef and tropical forest conservation expeditions. CCC was established in 1986 with a grand vision: to ensure the health of the world's deteriorating coral reef and tropical rain- forest ecosystems, a major source of food and other benefits for a rapidly growing world population. The CCC family consists of thousands of volunteers, specialists, NGO's, communities and scholars from all over the world. Our approach to conservation has always been based on volunteer contributions. This means that anyone can join our expeditions and help give back to the environment by helping local communities that depend on such natural resources as a source of their livelihood. CCC believe in a bottom up approach to conservation which involves the local custodians and community, as we believe this is the only way to successfully preserve local endangered ecosystems
