Cornish Maritime Churches Description

From this summer onwards, the Institute of Cornish Studies are pursuing a research project to implement a Digital resource centre for Penryn Campus. This will be a private and public digital platform where students, alumni, staff and public can access new digitised archives, in an array of audio visual, interactive formats. It will not only aid future students and their research but also act as a progressive hub which anyone can contribute towards. In order to get this project up and running, I am seeking a team of volunteers to participate in the production of an interactive trail, potentially funded by Heritage Lottery Fund. The trail will mark, document and engage with the maritime churches throughout the whole of Cornwall, and will be supervised by Dr Jo Esra. The idea is to firstly research and then vlog all findings, which can be implemented in the audio visual interactive trail. Therefore, Jo and I are looking for 6 students to participate in research, vlogging and digital production of the maritime church trail and Penryn digital platform. As it would be a HLF funded project, it is important that you can give your time throughout the rest of the academic year, so living locally would be best. It is also preferable if you have your own form of transport, although not completely necessary. We are not only looking for students within the Exeter humanities, but all students across the campus who believe they can contribute to the research, filming, technology and marketing of the project.

Expenses and all training will be paid, plus the skills and involvement with a HLF funded project will be great for the CV! If you wish to get in touch, please like and follow our ‘Cornish Maritime Churches’ Facebook Page, write a one sentence review for why you are interested and message us with your details and what you could contribute to the project. If you also have any questions, please feel free to message us.

Thank you for your interest! !
