Cornwall Agri-Food Council

About Cornwall Agri-Food Council

We provide strategic and proactive support to the agricultural, horticultural, food and land based industries. We work as a panel of industry leaders and meet on average once every quarter. Our participants are drawn from the private sector and voluntarily contribute their time and expertise without cost. The Cornwall Agri-food Council Development Team began in June 2000 as an Objective One funded project and its role was to facilitate applications from the agricultural, horticultural, food and land based industries of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The team also acted as the administrative body for the Cornwall Agri-food Council. Objective One came to a close in September 2008, however over the existence of the programme, the team provided initial guidance to over 2, 023 rural businesses and provided in depth support to over 120 rural businesses. In addition to this, it assisted projects and secured £33. 9 million from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund of the Objective one Programme in the form of projects as diverse as cheese processing and machinery sharing.
