Hello!!! Here I am with a little almost end of summer holidays round up with all the news from Cositas.. 🤗

I’m not really a big head, and goodness knows I hate a bragger as much as the next person, but.... we have the cutest, coolest, best keyrings in the world in the world at the moment. All hand made by @ficklecraftroom these limited edition macramé delights are available now! £14 each

You just can’t beat a good, solid classic like this. It’s stained with an oak finish with the inside and shelves painted in an off white. We didn’t do this ourselves though. It’s very famous and has been on TV’s Money For Nothing. I think they chose a very good fit for us and jumped at the chance to have it. You can see me on TV buying it later in the year! It measures 82cm x 76cm x 40cm and costs £360 🌟

Enjoy learning how to make an abstract painting onto canvas to hang in your home, with beautiful gold leaf embellishment. Never picked up a paintbrush before? No worries as you will be taken through each step to mix your colours, create a composition and use the right brush strokes to create a contemporary piece of art using acrylic paints and gold leaf.

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to update furniture using paint then this is the course for you. This workshop is all about teaching the basics of painting to give you the skills and confidence to go home and transform that piece you’ve always wanted to.
Specifically in this workshop we give a short introduction to what types of furniture paint are available and in common use currently – chalk paint and acrylic paint, how they differ and what results they give. Then we m...ove into the practical part of the course which will take the majority of your time and we will use planks of wood to teach you basic painting, 2 colour show through, dry brushing, wet distressing, colour washing and intense sanding for distressing and using metallic paints. We will predominantly use chalk paint, Sarah Jane Chalk Paint, for this workshop with a smaller trial of Fusion Mineral Paint our acrylic furniture paint.
This workshop is ideal for absolute beginners or those who want to progress from just painting to beginning to understand a few basic techniques.
Once you cracked your basic technique you can then progress onto one of our other workshops, Advanced Furniture Painting Techniques, Pretty In Paint or Take A Seat.

In this workshop you will learn everything you need to begin creating your very own beautiful brush lettered style. You will start learning basic brush strokes, working on brush control, mark making and shape formations with contrasting stroke thickness. With plenty of help and guidance you will practice capital and cursive letters and finally letter a Botanical Banner with a practised initial, word or short phrase of your choice.
A beginners brush lettering kit is provided f...or you to use at the workshop and to keep – so you can master everything you’ve learned at the workshop at home, and create more beautifully lettered pieces. Jen’s favourite lettering brush, a pot of ink, guide sheets, good quality practice paper and your choice of botanical card banner complete with bakers twine are all included.

This workshop teaches you how to take your furniture from a basic painted and distressed finish to a higher level. Learn how to apply and use dark, ageing, liming and metallic waxes to highlight, age and create depth and interest to your furniture. In addition we will show you how to use glaze both tinted and coloured with your choice of paint to apply to pieces to create unique decorative effects.
We will use wooden boards and moulds to practice these techniques which you ca...n take away with you.

We had the most precious evening doing a neon sign workshop, a group of 6 of us booked a private workshop and it was such a wonderful treat, we produced lovely signs whilst surrounded by thoughtful refreshments and such a gorgeous setting.

Amazing, friendly, original, independent little shop that we all love dearly. I would highly recommend it on every count. Perfect xx

I spent a lovely morning painting a seascape on canvas with Jenny. She was a fabulous teacher and made me feel really at ease. I can’t wait to get to an art shop to pick up supplies for another picture! Thank you x

Fabulous modern lettering workshop with the very talented Ellen Waldren. Precious hours spent learning something very beautiful.

Cositas is a wonderful independent shop full of lovely items and a very warm welcome from Emma!

Bought some paint for my first ever home project at home. Very helpful lady told me what I needed.

Later had to call with a couple of questions; once again more advice delivered with jolly reassurance.

My upcycling project looked fab and I would use Cositas again without hesitation!

Attended the Beginners Knitting Workshop with my sister on 11 Oct. Made to feel welcome, by the lovely Emma, from the moment we arrived. The workshop was led by Liz who so friendly and patient. Only 3 of us in the group and Liz gave each of individual attention. The session was fun, interactive and great value for money. Finished off with a browse around the shop ..... managed to limit myself to just one purchase, but will definitely return �����
