Cosmic Calligraphy

I made this for my friends, who had their baby over the weekend.. hi Sapphire 😍 I’ll probably create a few similar designs and add them to my Etsy shop, seeing as I enjoyed making this one so much 😁 listings will be up in the next few days!

Ever since I’ve been visiting this beautiful part of Spain with my partner, we’ve seen one particular street seller year after year... she creates mixed media landscapes of the surrounding areas, using bright acrylics to achieve contrasts between sky and water, starry nights and sunsets, and uses real sand to add tiny glittery beaches to her scenes 🏝 stunning work, and she captures the feel of the Cabo de Gata National Park perfectly. This year, we found she’s opened her own... shop! ❤️ there she is; in her amazing little gallery, showcasing her work along with what seemed to be a couple of other local artisans! She had her desk in there with all her materials so she can be surrounded by her own inspiration as she carries on creating - Love seeing small business’ progressing out here!! After seeing her work for many years, it’s inspiring to see where she is now ❤️ This may or may not have inspired me to translate my business name to Spanish - just to see if it has a ring to it... Caligrafía Cósmica might have to become a thing one day 😍🤣 I didn’t want to photograph her work close up out of respect, but I’ll add a link to her business page in the comments for you to have a little browse 🙂

So this summer, Simon and I will be helping to run our friends’ festival stall - Jumunjy Thai Street Food.. I did their chalkboards while we were helping them at some festivals last year, in a damp field with pretty poor lighting and no guidelines.. but was so pleased with how they turned out 😂 (3rd and 4th pics) however this year they needed a refresh, and I’m shocked at the improvement! Super proud of them now 😍 If anyone’s heading to Cornwall festivals this summer keep an eye out for us - the best food you can ask for at a festival! Will keep this page updated as we go 💜

So far in 2018 I’ve mainly been working on some new signage for a beautiful little cafe in Porthallow, Cornwall, called Fat Apples Cafe.. a little bit out of my depth due to the fact that these boards have to withstand the damp Cornish weather.. and they’re probably the biggest pieces I’ve done! But I love a challenge! Was also fun working with an established brand, a particular font and logo - not what I’d usually do, but I’m SO HAPPY with how they look 😍 If you’re ever that way in Cornwall, make sure you go and check out this little gem... lovely family and epic food ❤️

We could not be more delighted with our wedding invitations!! All our guests have complimented them and say how Christmasy they are! Abby not only did a truly brilliant design with all the bits we wished for, she seemed to become just as excited as us while making them. You can tell Abby loves making her beautiful designs and it really shows with the finished products.

I received my table plan today! Delivered by courier and bubble wrapped for safety! I’m blown away. Abby has been wonderful to deal with from start to finish and created something for me that is stunning and matches my theme perfectly! Abby sent me photos of my table plan when it was finished and I loved it. It doesn’t compare to actually seeing it though! So much bigger than I expected! I can’t wait to display this at my wedding in April! I honestly couldn’t be happier! Thank you so much ����

Big massive thank you to Abby for all she did for our wedding!! Abby made our invitations and they were blooming marvelous. We got loads of lovely comments about them. They were different, bright and personal to us. We were so happy with what she made for us we also got Abby to do our ‘Welcome to our Wedding’ sign, ‘order of the day’, a “mutual weirdness" quote (we bought this one to keep) a rustic table plan AND the name place cards. We couldn’t fault any of it. Everything was made to an extremely high standard. We would give Abby an idea of what we wanted, and she would go away and put her own spin and creativity on it and produce something awesome every time. All hand written in beautiful eye-catching lettering and Calligraphy. She was just as enthusiastic about our wedding as we were, and we loved having all these things made especially for us. Would totally recommend Abby’s work, she is obviously super creative and passionate about what she does, and it really shows.

Amazing creative thinking and came up with an idea even more amazing than the one in my head. I love my invites xxxx

Abby you are Awsome!!! Cosmic Caligrathy have painted our chalk board's for the past 2 years and each time they blow our minds.. Abby is so creative you give her a simple idea or a theme, and she comes back with not just a chalk board but a very cleverly thought out pice of art that is not only beautiful but also full of information, set out in a way that is very pleasing to the eye!! And we know they work as our customer's enjoy reading them and are fully informed with all the info they need saving us alot of time answering questions as we did before our signs were made Cosmic!!!!!

Abby is fabulous! We gave her the materials, told her what the wedding theme was and let her work her magic. She didn’t disappoint! Would highly recommend!

Abby created some fabulous invitations for a birthday event that I have coming up. She really listened to what I wanted for a design and the finished invites have attracted lots of praise from the people who received them. Her calligraphy is beautiful and her sense of colour and design are spot on! Place names and menus to come soon!
