We recently had our wedding reception at the Cotswold lodge hotel, which was brilliant. We had many meetings with Esra, who helped and advised us making our reception just the way we wanted it. On the day everything was perfect, the food was great, the waiters/waitresses & bar staff service was so professional & polite, and Anne Marie on reception was so lovely. I know all of our guest who stayed the night & had breakfast with us the following morning were thrilled with their rooms. We cannot fault a thing! So many thanks to all the staff that helped make our reception wonderful.

We organised a special Sunday lunch for my parents' ruby anniversary for 24 people in Restaurant 66a. Everyone was very pleased with the setting, comfort and food in the restaurant. We were put in a more private area so as not to disturb other diners. The food was delicious. We all had generous porions of meat which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Vegetables wete served on a sharing platter and were also nicely cooked. Desserts were lovely and good sized portions. All in all we were very well catered for and enjoyed a lovely relaxing afternoon. Thank you, Cotswold Lodge, for helping us create a memorable occasion.

The Cotswold Lodge Hotel is a lovely little Hotel with very welcoming staff. They were very helpful when arranging to have a bottle of Prosecco put into our room for a surprise for my partner and it turned out he had the same idea (great minds). We had a comfortable overnight stay and it was also very comical at times (staff will understand why haha).

The cooked breakfast was beautiful and not to mention the selection of pasteries. Overall we would definitely stay here again.

Thanks for a great weekend........

User

Thank you all very much for making mine and my now wife's wedding the best day ever on the 17th of June everyone was fantastic. The day ran very smoothly with no faults and nothing was ever a problem for them if little changes needed to be made. The food was lovely, thank to the chefs who cooked it to the people serving it, also thank you to the bar stuff for keeping the drinks flowing 👍🏻The wedding planner was fantastic always making sure we were happy and everything in the right place at the right time. Also thank you to the people behind the Scenes doing the room turn around from dinner lay out to the evening tables and dance floor. Thank you all again. I will recommend the Cotswold lodge hotel to anyone getting married 5 ⭐️

User

Just returned from a Twixt Christmas break. Wonderful value with added thoughtful extras like a bottle of chilled prosecco in our room and daily bottled water.

The food in the 66a Restaurant was outstanding and the waitresses helpful and friendly. I can highly recommend this hotel .

Thanks to all the staff for a relaxing break.

We will return.

User

I recently got married here and had the most wonderful day. I would strongly recommend Cotswold Lodge to any one who is planning a wedding-the food and service was exceptional and the bridal suite was stunning. Thank you to Laura who made it a stress free experience.

User

Hi. I would like to thank all the staff for all their hard work in making our wedding the best day of our lives. Special mention to Esra Howe for all the work she has done over the last year. The head chef for a really wonderful wedding breakfast ( if you are thinking of booking the Cotswold lodge for your wedding, you won't go far wrong) all the waiting stay and the nice young lady behind the bar. The restaurant manager who didn't miss a thing and all other service was second to none.

Many thanks.

Fabulous. Great Experience, wonder lunch and absolutely excellent service.

User

Could not fault the food. Compliments to the chef.

User

Cotswold Lodge is was a great hotel near the university where we had a conference. As it was my wife's birthday, I had asked if they could arrange to place a bouquet of flowers in our room which they did - this earned me some BIG brownie points! Many thanks. Dining was always fantastic and our room! It was one of the best we stayed in and we were sad to leave. A few coffee shops within walking distance, but buses also go right past the hotel. Highly recommended if visiting Oxford.

User

As a professional photographer you see what goes on behind the scenes at a venue, and I have never felt compelled to leave a review before, but Esra is one of the best event managers I have ever worked with. Super organised, calm in a crisis and ready to solve any problem that comes her way whilst giving the bride and groom the best possible day. Fabulous service, can't recommend highly enough

User

I won a competition for a meal for 4 people.. I must say there wasn't a lot of selection, but we had lovely food and the staff were very friendly.. Would definitely go back

User

I stayed in February.I would not recommend the courtyard room I had . It was cold and the duvet was summer weight, noisy ( thin walls) and the wardrobe was 4 inches deep! The named rooms in the main hotel in contrast are lovely, cosy and well decorated. Lots of hot water and good water pressure in the shower.Pleasant bar area and sitting room. The breakfast was superb and the management staff most helpful . A good sized car park. There is also a restaurant which I did not try on my short stay.

Minus point: very hard pillows in both rooms I stayed in.

User

Hurrah, a cosy bar with great music & Champagne by the glass! Friendly & helpful staff & comfortable bedroom - only niggle was shower (doubtless designed by a man!) was statically positioned so high that it was difficult to wash this 5' 2" frame.. Suggest a handheld alternative before my next visit :)

We were given a voucher for a sparkling afternoon tea for a Christmas present. This hotel is special to us as we held our wedding reception here a few years ago.

Booking the day was pretty easy, with the exception of an incorrect phone number on the printed voucher. We were welcomed and shown to our tea table. The surroundings were very nice and there was a real fire burning in the lounge's hearth. No music and very little atmosphere.

We started off with our glasses of bubbly, which I think was real Champagne. If not, it was very good. We then proceeded with our afternoon tea tower of sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and an assortment of cakes and biscuits. There were two individual rice puddings served in shot glasses.

We went for the English Breakfast tea but there was an excellent assortment to choose from.

I can't say it was the best afternoon tea we've ever had (The Feathers Hotel in Woodstock gets that vote).

Perfectly acceptable, but I doubt much of it was produced in house.

User

Very friendly staff - there for birthday and New Year. Did not get option on how meat was cooked, beef too underdone with blood running and duck too underdone and tough. Only spinach served - no other green veg. Did not like the NYE Menu - best of 7 course menu was the dessert and cheese. Issues with radiators in rooms and water to showers - did not run at all some times. Staff all superb and tried their very best. Hotel needs a refurb in some public areas specially the carpets very worn in places. No lift to any floors.

User

Unfortunately I wouldn't say it was as good as we were expecting. The Scones were lovely.......but the rest mediocre.

My Linen napkin was very damp.

The wedding that was going on was obviously the staffs priority, which I didn't agree with, as all paying guests should be treated to the same good service.

User

Nice Olde English hotel. Could do with air conditioning. Staff at breakfast should challenge guests at the door and not at the buffet. Lovely room, brilliant full English breakfast (although needed reminding - black pudding left out by kitchen) and nice kipper. Front desk efficient and bar Staff friendly and helpful even late at night.

User

I absolutely love staying here, it's so homely and the staff are utter professionals. Thank you in particular to Chris who is just so helpful. Walter and team can really demonstrate what professional friendly service is. I travel a lot and this hotel by far gas it all.
