Council For Sustainability Education

About Council For Sustainability Education

The Council for Sustainability Education (CSE) is a non-profit social enterprise set up to advance sustainability education. Our core work revolves around considering what it means to be sustainable and how we could achieve that state. With governance and systems design in place to prevent sustainability education from becoming a dogmatic ideology but remain dynamic, locally contextual and globally effective. We aim to achieve this by facilitating dialogue and increasing the flow of knowledge between the front lines of the sustainability movement, the educators working with the next generations and the pupils who will inherit the future world. Council members help CSE to update and publish relevant, diverse and innovative ideas to empower children, parents, teachers, leadership and communities to aspire and progress toward a sustainable future. From mass migration due to climate change, resource depletion and geopolitical turmoil to increasing polarisation and economic failures, the trajectory demands a fundamental shift in how we, as individuals, as communities and as global citizens, engage with the world. CSE aims to facilitate this transition by supporting the education of the subject areas deemed essential for our societies to thrive indefinitely within the means of nature. Providing tools and insights on how to effectively implement innovative, evidence-based solutions for solving the many levels of complex challenges we will face in the coming century and beyond.
