Hi, I'm Sean Fielding, a Labour Councillor representing Failsworth West on Oldham Council. I update this page with local interest posts and details of my activities so you know what I'm up to as your Councillor.

I've never lived anywhere other than Failsworth. I went to South Failsworth Primary School, Failsworth School and then on to Oldham Sixth Form College. Lots of people know me more from the 5 year stint I did filling shelves and then supervising the checkouts at Tesco than for being their Councillor! Perhaps this page can change that?

Being a Councillor isn't a full time job, I do this on top of working for a living too so you may find that this page is most active in the evenings and at weekend. My day job is in research and communications which compliments the role of a Councillor very well. It means I'm better informed and know plenty of background before going in to the meetings I attend on your behalf.

As well as being a Councillor I am a member of the Governong Body at Co-operative Academy Failsworth. Outside of community politics altogether I enjoy cycling, long distance running and play the trumpet in a swing band. I have recently taken up making home brew but the stuff I make gives me terrible headaches - I've been told this means I'm not doing it right.

I live in Failsworth with my girlfriend Sophie and her cat Mu (short for mittens, a name I had no part in choosing).
