Counter Culture Brings Magic the Gathering to Fridays!
But How?!
From 4pm: Introductory Sessions, Learn the Lay of the Land, if you've been wanting to find out about how magic plays and which parts you may enjoy, come and try out the different colours of Magic the Gathering with Free Introductory decks
... From 5 till late-pm: Casual Play, over the Tabletop, battle against others in which ever way you would like to, Learn new ways to play from Standard to Pauper from Planechase to Brawl and of course Commander, Come Join the Fun!
From 7:30: Pauper Cube!/M19 Draft
Three Booster Packs Per Player And One and a Half Boosters (we wont cut it in half) in the prize pool per player.
Explaing Drafting Eight players sit around a table, Picking out cards to construct their magic deck. With all the cards distributed evenly everyone will have 45 cards to build a 40 card deck, Lands will be provided. Most Draft decks will have 17 Land and 15 Creatures and 8 Spells, this is a guide. Much help and advise will be given in the evening.
You then play a Best of Three Match Vs another player at your table, this is repeated two more times to see who built the best deck!
Prizes will then be handed out at the end of the evening and the winner will be celebrated and the runner ups being consoled..

Wonderful afternoon spent playing games from their extensive library. Thank you for all the advice and relaxed atmosphere

We’re fairly new to board games, but were looking for something that we could play with kids with ages ranging from 3 to 12, so not an easy task! Jim and Beth took the time to ask a few questions and then recommended Rhino Hero and Kingdomino (after having given us a demo). Bought both and have had a very pleasant couple of hours keeping the kids and us entertained!! Top service!! Thank you very much!!

Very friendly and unassuming owners. Great range of games in the library and space to play. Early days and lots of exciting developments to come I am sure. Lovely that someone has had the gumption to just get on and open this shop and from what I can see they are being rewarded by a steady stream of gamers through the door. Just enjoyed a fun evening with Counter Culture Games at The Ale House. Excellent range of games, everyone was very welcoming and Beth did a great job of explaining all the instructions. Definitely recommend this for anyone at a loose end on a Sunday afternoon. Thanks!

It's a great store with friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable owners. Being able to play the games in store with people who know how to play them makes learning how to play so much faster and more enjoyable.

I got into Sushi Go Party at a pop up games cafe run by Counter culture, then they went to great lengths to find it for me. I love it ! The games are great- they are time limited unlike Monopoly for example. Thanks for all your help m

Had my first visit to Counter Culture Games today and met the very friendly Beth and Jim. Both very approachable and knowledgeable about this ever growing,fascinating and fun hobby. Their library of games is excellent and am very much looking forward to visiting again and trying out a few of these. Hopefully will visit with my son and daughter soon and get some game time in. I look forward to getting along more often and meet more like minded gamers.
