Counting To Ten Blog

While everyone is writing posts about half term being over (for better or worse) I have just published my guide to Easter Egg Hunts and Activities (mostly) in Essex. The Easter Holidays might be 6 weeks away but some activities sell out fast. I'll be updating it with more suggestions as the details become available, but there are already more than 40 places to go. Please share with your friends who might be interested. Thank you.

This is interesting reading, especially if you find you are shouting a lot. One thing that it leaves me pondering though is: yes I know I’m not looking after myself yet some of the suggestions feel uncomfortable. But really is it more harmful to leave a baby (I’m not talking newborn) crying while you get yourself a drink or some food or even go for a wee or to shout at them because you are ignoring your basic needs? I worry about the damage caused by yelling

A letter to my son written on his first birthday.

My daughter’s Christmas homework includes eating a sprout and having a hot chocolate. I’m guessing she is one of the few children in her year that will happily eat sprouts, but doesn’t like hot chocolate. Sprouts are one of the favourite vegetables in this house!
