Very cold and hail so far, horrible memories of Beast from the East whilst lambing this year, so glad to be inside with fire on !!

Christmas tree bought today from Meldon Park Estate, thank you to Shane for managing to fit it into the back of Holly's polo.......much fun getting home with pine needles as a headrest 😅 Looking forward to decorating on Friday !!

Venison Stew all ready for the freezer......what is it about Tupperware , about twenty dishes and twenty lids, and none match 😅
Also apology to all, Ox Inn Venison stew is a secret recipe, having been given in private, I can't pass it on, but I am sure there are plenty of alternatives out there X

Start of Christmas cooking, just begging to fill the freezer so lots of easy reheat meals......tonight I have Venison casserole ( recipe from the Ox Inn ) smells amazing.......still to cook, my Top Tikka, Gordon's fish pie, Sausages, mash and onion gravy and some Hams and Game terrines 😄

Scottish Roe Liver, Caramelised onions, melted cambert on apples and rocket with potatoes.......

Fire lit, Sunday lunch at The Ox Inn Middleton, time to chill 😅

Somebody things that I like about winter....

We were so excited about the open reach vans....... thinking we were finally getting decent internet, unfortunately they had an underground problem, and so decided to temparily put the line along our horse fence line.....and because of their split from BT no one has been back. Leaving us with cracklings on phones and patchy Internet .....so if I don't reply or respond to messages that is the reason !!! 😅

Had to stay in tonight, baby Ivy's first guy flakes night, all good so far......so cooked Pork, Grueryer and breadcrumb topping with brussel sprouts and bacon and tomatoes with roast baby corn

Note to self.......when you are slow cooking, remember to take dish from top oven, and put in bottom oven....BEFORE you go out for 4 hours !! No photo....just imagine everything Black !!!! ( just as well two neighbours are away, the smell from the balanced flue was not good ) 😅

Tup went out on Monday, already two red chalk marks .....looks like early March lambing.......fingers crossed for better weather this year...🐑🐑🐑
