What a lovely place im gluten free and my meal was superb
Visited with quite a large group including 3 children, food was delicious, the children's food was lovely too. My steak was cooked to perfection. Couldn't fault the service either.
Thursday 28th June..birthday lunch for my sister...always welcoming staff..service excellent as usual...they know we like photographs taking and always oblige ( with laughter). Food again is always delicious and served with a smile...( Steven was our waiter) we love the Counrtryman and go regularly...never leave feeling disappointed...

Our first visit today and it won't be the last. The Countryman was recommended to us by a friend who said the food was great and we weren't let down. It was piping hot and very tasty, we haven't had food this nice in a restaurant for a long time. The service was spot on too.
Lovely food and service, just what I needed after a busy week, and they don’t bat an eyelid when you’re a female dining alone, would recommend this to everyone
I had the mighty mixed grill while my partner had the steak au poivre. Both were perfectly prepared. The welcome and service from the staff was exemplary. Not the cheapest place but worth every penny. Beautiful decor. Also have to add that you will need to book in advance as it gets very busy.
Highly recommended. We have been as a couple, with small children and with large groups many times. This is a place that you can rely on delivering top service and top food every time with beautiful decor. The menu is extensive and I can recommend the chicken tikka masala and their chips � but there's something for everyone and all cooked fresh. As for the puddings.....one of the nicest lemon cheesecakes around!

Came upon it just driving by. Called in and have to say, best pub food for a long time. Good pleasant bar, lovely dining room and pleasant staff. Makes a change to eat in a bar and not have to put up with televisions belting out sport etc.quality food at a fraction of the price of some of these gastro pubs locally. Fabulous outdoor seating also to chill in a nice surrounding. We will be back for a meal in the dining room.
Came here tonight with my best friend and I'd like to say wow you certainly get you're money's worth. I had the cottage pie with chips and vegetables, my friend had lasagne and we both were very satisfied. staff were really nice too. Will be here again 😀😀
Called in on off chance. Not been before and we hadn't booked, so we had to eat in the bar area. We opted for the home made steak pie and it was to die for,so we will definitely be going again but will be booking it next time with family. Would recommend it to anyone but if you know your going, book in advance.

We had booked a table for 2pm on the 3/12/17 for my Grandads 80th Birthday when we arrived the table wasn’t ready so we had a drink in the bar, we were brought to the table around 2.15-2.20pm, we had pre ordered all of our food but had to wait until nearly 3pm for our food. When my grandad asked how long it would be as we’d been at the pub nearly 1 hour the lady very rudely replied “but you’ve not been at your table one hour” so I replied “no we haven’t however the table was booked at 2pm and we’ve pre ordered the food” to which she then said “I’ll go and find out for you!” We had no apology for the wait time the lady returned to say “they’re plating one table up then yours is next!” Another 10 minuted passed when my uncle asked and stated the same that we had been waiting nearly 1 hour to which the lady then more or less started to argue with him at the bar but my uncle was very polite never raised his voice and just stated that we’d all been there nearly 1 hour. Not very professional never once did she say that she was sorry instead she just tried to defend why we were kept waiting (your food isn’t cooked until you’re all sat at your table etc.) I felt this somewhat ruined our experience. When the food finally arrived it was lovely and made up for the wait just a shame about the member of staffs attitude.
Lovely meal couldn't fault the food but service not so good. All stood about chatting more than serving. Took an hour to get a starter and had to ask for drinks
