Thank you everyone but we have today decided to stop hiring out our horsebox. In particular can we thank all our customers over the past couple of years - I trust they have all enjoyed our box and our service. For us this was never really about making money (though we didn't want to lose money either) but to give the service level we wanted was getting more difficult around our day jobs. In particular Victoria who's main business is as a Veterinary Chiropractor - Back2it Chiropractic - was finding the time to do cleans and preping between hires more difficult.

With Christmas and New Year behind us and the evenings slowly getting lighter are you starting to plan your outings? I know we are wallowing in mud everywhere but spring is not far away. With dressage regionals approaching our box is getting booked (February is already looking busy). So if you are planning on going out and want to travel your horse in style get bookings in to avoid disappointment.

This makes you realise what placid horses the cold bloods (heavy horses) are!

This is a really good article about the equine or veterinary chiropractor. If you have an issue with your horse, maybe gait, more difficult of one rein or just way of going, think about the training of the person you call. We all tend to have people we call and over the years we have found, like most things, it pays to have an arsenal of possibilities to call upon. If the practitioner you are using doesn't resolve an issue after 2 or 3 visits consider something different. A m...aintenance visit once every six months or a year is reasonable but unless you are talking a top, and I mean top, level competition horse more than that should be unnecessary and would tend to indicate what is being done is working on the symptoms but not the underlying problem. Victoria from CountrySmiths is a McTimoney human chiropractor and trained in Germany as a Veterinary Chiropractor passing both their and the International Veterinary Chiropractor exams. For horsebox hirers she will waive her call out fee so and examination and treatment is just £40 and as a competitive dressage rider she can talk rider language and does a rider and horse package of £75 focusing on a rider's needs. Why not arrange a personal treatment next time you collect or return the box.

This was at the BETA exhibition 5 years ago when we had a trade stand there

Absolutely love this - where can we get them...

User

All so true. If it all gets too much you could always hire a box and either go training, competing or just hire at an indoor venue
