County Hotel, Kendal

Thoroughly comfortable stop. Staff friendly. Room adequate. Cost very reasonable. Only a short walk into town. Would stop again.

The County Hotel needs someone to grab it by the collar and pull it into the 21st century. Luckily the current manager, aided by great, friendly staff is trying to do just this.
Sure it needs decorating and updating in some of the rooms but everywhere is clean.
The breakfast was well cooked and was brought out quickly by a lovely lady that couldn't have been more helpful. The staff although busy still find time to share a smile and a joke. The County Hotel has everything you need for a decent price. I will be staying here again.

Very expensive, £85 per night, for double room with 2 single beds. Really small beds. Breakfast child size. Really needs upgrading, dull and old fashioned. T. V. Tiny. No parking. Wouldn't stay again. Kendal lovely place, shame about hotel

The staff at the hotel were lovely and helpful but for we paid for the room for one night was quite expensive and we have stayed in cheaper that was alot better the room was really shabby with peeling wallpaper,dirty sealant round the bath,cracked hand rail,the TV was the smallest I have ever seen it was ridiculous.they had monitor things on the walls in the hallway because there was huge cracks,the windows were so old you might Aswell just have left them open you could hear everything,and they rattled,the radiator constantly filled Up all night long was noisy I wouldn't stay here again

Never again! Paid way to much for shabby hotel. And breakfast was terrible.

Great place to stay, lots of history to the place, used to be a coach inn. Staff are very friendly and helpful, always willing to help with any thing you ask for nothing is too much.
