THANK YOU! I have had some pretty bad hotel experiences here in the UK. I am thoroughly enjoying my stay at the Courthouse Hotel. The staff are amazing, the facilities are great and I feel so relaxed. All I can say is ahhhhh as I melt into the comfortable bed to rest.

Spent a great night here for our anniversary last month, the hotel provided complimentary Prosecco and upgraded us to a nicer room for the occasion. The room was lovely, bed massive and comfortable. The bar area was excellent and the breakfast buffet was great too. Would definitely recommend!

Our room is very cool and stylish. The receptionist is one of the nicest people I’ve met. Asked for some milk alternative and within five minutes we had it brought to our room. Room is clean and spacious. Can’t wait to come and stay again.

I booked through Secret Escapes as part of my hubby's birthday pressie. Not only is it in a beautiful building but its been renovated to a wonderful hotel.



When we arrived we were told thst we had been upgraded from a Magistrates king room to a Dalston suite- which was a lovely surprise!



The staff were very attentive and the room gorgeous. Best nights sleep ever! Never been in a hotel room where we had 3 tvs!! The bathroom was massive and had everything you could possibly have ever wanted.



The only slight moan was sky wasn't working on the bedroom tv despite being reported to reception so hubby had to watch the golf in the sitting room area!



Breakfast had a huge choice and was delicioud!



Would love to go back for a little longer.

Has to be one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff is attentive, polite, personal, but never pushy. We stayed in a Xscape twin room on the 5th floor. Whenever we left the room, we would come back to it being spotless with Kinder Buenos on the bedside table. Love it. The area is fun, vibrant and alive, with several excellent restaurants and bars within 1km radius. Highly recommended.

Had lovely afternoon tea here today...all the staff were lovely,helped us up stairs at the front with my grandson s heavy buggy....we had arrived early but shown to our table straight away and tea was served as soon as we sat down...offered choice of teas and then our sandwiches and scones arrived...wow...delicious and so much more than I had expected...in fact we had to ask for a carry out bag which they happily provided...we had a lovely time and were asked on our way out how it had been .....a lovely treat for us ...kind ,thoughtful staff,great food we will be back.....thank you all ūüėäxx Carol and beth

Fantastic hotel with really friendly helpful staff. Great facilities,gym,sauna,steam room and a pool. It has even got a bowling alley and a cinema. Full English breakfast was delicious with lots of choice, cereals juices and continental breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

What a transformation! This old building now has a fresh life and has restored the key features very well. We had a 3 course meal, this was OK- presented well but lacked seasoning in my opinion! The surroundings is what remedies this, there's a special feeling about sitting in the old court hall... you must take a look around and visit the old cells in the bar too. The decor is very modern and has a trendy feel to fit right in in this vibrant location. Would visit again... perhaps just for drinksÔŅĹ

We've been to the court house hotel a few times now for cocktails or food and each time the experience was very pleasant and enjoyable. Yes there were small little hick ups with the service but on the whole the staff try their hardest to give a good service. On our first visit they showed us around the place, in the old cells were the Crays were held and explained some of the history of the building. On our most recent visit, one of the bar managers called Leonard remembered us and greeted us like long lost friends. We will certainly be going back again and highly recommend the court house.

Service was great and food very tasty.

Only problem I had was that I asked if the Tajine was with chicken before I ordered, I was told yes. Asked again when the dish was brought to the table and I was told yes. I started eating..no chicken. No point in sending the food back as it tasted nice, but would be good if staff can be more informed on the food they serve!

Loved the short hotel tour and the history behind it.

I was very inpressed with the building the minute I walked in. We arrived a little early for afternoon tea and were asked if we wanted to wait in the bar. When we said it was our first visit we were given a brief history which included the cells !

Every member of staff were lovely. We opted to stay in the bar as it was so comfortable. The cocktails and Prosecco were good the afternoon tea had a few savoury snacks not just sandwich's. We asked about the hotel spa and were given a tour of the facilities including the roof top bar. We will be back hopefully to stay next time

Arrived and was taken to a table, asked if had any allergies.. no.. if we wanted tea or coffee .. not given any choice of tea.. asked when we wanted our champagne.. said now please... filled our glasses with water.. came back 15 mins later with the champagne... then 10 mins after that with the tea..45 mins later we were still waiting for the food and people had left both sides of us and the dirty tables were just left .. so we asked?? Oh its coming... Tea was stone cold.. they did offer more tea.. but we declined.. the food, was nice.. on like a slate board ..so it was individual..

Room we sat in had no atmosphere..it felt cold and echoed.. felt like if you had a voucher thats where you sat.. had a walk around and the rest of the hotel is very plush.. looks lovely... but the afternoon tea room.. isnt nor was the service .. actual staff were polite.. just too slow

This is advertised as a 5* hotel on lots of sites. It isn’t, not even nearly. It’s superficially done up enough to look really good in the pictures but everything is low quality. The roof top bar was nice but £22.50 for a G&T and a tiny cider is only ok if the surroundings are in some way special - the 5th floor was littered with boxes and half constructed Ikea furniture. Great service on the rooftop but awful service on the ground floor where staff were at best indifferent and at worst rude/incompetent. Food was dumped on the table that was not as described on the menu and without any condiments or sides - these had to be asked for twice and then didn’t arrive until the end of the meal. Asked to see a duty manager and no one came but we did hear the very rude member of staff that served us being asked about the situation by a receptionist - they made no attempt to be discreet. No chargers for guests to borrow. Cheap and nasty toiletries. Not even enough tea in the room. All very unprofessional and second rate. We had so many choices of where to stay on what was meant to be a luxurious night away and it’s so dissapointing that this is where we ended up - no atmosphere, empty, tacky. Anyone that’s stayed in a real 5* hotel will no this place is a joke. We could have spent our money going somewhere amazing like The Ned but thought we’d try somewhere new. I feel completely duped and entirely ripped off. They should be making it very clear on every booking platform that this is not 5*, training staff and just upgrading the general quality even to be 4*.

Saturday 21st April 2018- Afternoon tea for 4 was ok at best, dry sandwiches, slow service, had to ask for more cream after one small pot was provided for 8 scones, then told they had run out, error on the bill etc.....

We then went up to the roof terrace bar to be told a new policy had been implemented 20 minutes earlier which meant agreeing to a £160 minimum spend or leave. There were around 4 other occupied tables also being told this with varying degrees of insult experienced. We were then confusingly brought a round of free drinks?

The manager was unavailable and after much push back from all clientele already in place, although every other potential customer was turned away at the door after refusing to agree to the new policy, we ordered drinks and stayed for an hour before moving on (£45 for a bottle of cheap white wine).

All customers were talking together about how ridiculous it is to refuse custom at a virtually empty venue. Rubbish! Won’t be back despite the great views.

Afternoon tea was mediocre to say the least. Staff inattentive & distracted.

Beautiful roof terrace location, but to be obligated to ¬£160 minimum spend or leave is an insult, particularly as the ‚Äėnew policy‚Äô was implemented 20 minutes prior to our arrival. We respectfully pointed out that other people were going to the bar to buy drinks, but had not agreed to the minimum spend. The bar manager was out of his depth & the whole episode was quite frankly an embarrassment for the establishment.

Someone stole 600 euro from my room while I was out. Money were into a wallet into a nylon black bag in one of the drawer. Management made ‚Äú investigations‚ÄĚ and for them this has never happened. Reason why they don‚Äôt believe they should offer any kind of compensation or showing any kind act toward me . The level of customer care justify probably the nature of what has happened.
