Cowslip Workshops Description

Cowslip Workshops is set in an idyllic location not far from Launceston Golf Club in Cornwall, with stunning views of the Tamar Valley & Launceston castle.

We run a variety of different craft workshops and weekly classes ranging from photography or willow work to quilting and patchwork, all organised by Jo Colwill.

Jo has worked with textiles all her life, and has designed and made many patchwork quilts, she loves animals, country life, homemaking, and sharing her creative skills. With this in mind, the shop, workshops, weekly classes activities and exhibitions have been carefully built up over the years, offering students the best tutors, working environment, quality relaxation time and sense of achievement plus an excellent range of country fabrics. Jo and Cowslip recently starred in Kirsty Allsopp's Handmade Britain, featuring Jo teaching Kirsty patchworking skills, and the Cowslip Christmas Fair.

Well worth a visit if you are interested in textiles. There is also a fantastic shop full of beautiful fabrics and a fabulous cafe.

Better late than never! this is to say thank you to everyone who supported the summer fair so well, it was an amazing week, hot hot hot, Gail won at Launceston show with her quilt, classes with Janine and Jessie followed by the fantastic Quilters Guild Day with a visit from Pat Cox all the way from Minnesota. The very good news is that we raised ┬Ż1600 for our defibrillator which will be deliverd over the next few weeks plus training, we also gave 490.00 to Sierra Leone and ┬Ż650 to CRUK with extra donations, so again thank you all very much, now it is best foot forward to prepare for the NEC next week. Thank you one and All

Beautiful views, pretty gardens, and an excellent caf├® to keep my husband and the dog comfortable while I indulged in some craft shopping - just perfect! Many thanks to Helen and Ellen and all the team at Cowslip for a fabulous 2 day Cock-a-doodle-do workshop. Everyone was very helpful and the tuition excellent. Delicious food, all ready in the delightful cafe, as we stopped for lunch, and lots of coffee, tea and cakes sustained us. The time flew by, but I'm pleased to say I now have a finished cockerel that I'm rather pleased with. Now I'm looking forward to making him a wife!

I have just returned from a wonderful weekend at Cowslip. Where we belatedly celebrated my mums 60th birthday, we spent the day having a lesson with Jo Colwill. We loved Cowslip in it's idilic location. We have learnt so much and are really pleased with our project. We have come home inspired by Jo. Cowslip is a must for any sewing enthusiast. All staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food in the cafe was so delicious, we visited both days! The shop has a wonderful range of fabric and sewing bits. Jo is so helpful and generous with her time and skills. We will be back.

User

I can't explain the feeling of peace and tranquility that flows at Cowslip. The lesson are so wonderful. Jo Colwill is so supportive and encouraging. It's just an amazing place. I always learn lots of new techniques. It's the best therapy.

User

I can not recommend Jo and her team strongly enough, you are made to feel extremely welcome with all your needs catered for during the day, even if you divert slightly ’┐Į. Everyone on the workshop is given individual time as and when needed and Jo and her team ensure you have acheived and leave with a good understanding.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you very much.

User

Fantastic weekend at Cowslip, signed up to do one day, ended up doing both as I enjoyed it so much. Thank you ’┐Į

User

Currently enjoying the six week beginners patchwork course and I am having such a great time. Jo is such a warm and generous tutor, so encouraging and knowledgable with an enthusiastic teaching style - for a complete beginner I feel very at home and able to ask all the silly questions without fear of ridicule- I don't want it to end, I will just turn up every week and see if anyone notices!!

User

Called in for lunch during charity cycle event. Jo and her staff could not have been more helpful and generous with their service and support. A gem of a place. Most definitely we will be back. Thank you so much.

User
