About Craftivist Collective

Founded in 2009 by award-winning campaigner, Ashoka Fellow and author Sarah Corbett, The Craftivist Collective has helped change hearts, minds, policies and laws around the world through their unique ‘Gentle Protest' methodology. Rooted in gentleness, The Craftivist Collective channels a new approach to activism, helping people make the world they wish to see through its beautiful use of craft providing educational resources, supplies, ethical DIY kits and sensory events that empower individuals and communities to come together and develop their skills as effective gentle protesters. The Collective encourages individuals, groups and organisations to see the power they hold in their hands and use our unique Gentle Protesting tools to help create real positive change. In 2013, Sarah released her first book, ‘A Little Book of Craftivism' and went on to publish ‘How to be a Craftivist: The Art of Gentle Protesting' in 2017. The Craftivist Collective Handbook will also be published in 2024. Sarah has gone on to hone her craft in effective craftivism creating projects, products and tools and services such as campaign collaborations, consultation and super-cool events with charities, museums, galleries and brands around the world. Corbett has delivered hundreds of talks and workshops to thousands of people globally and is an experienced spokesperson in the worldwide growing craftivism movement across media outlets. "Beautiful, fair and kind activism tools activism can lead to a more beautiful, fair and kind world. "Sarah Corbett, The Craftivist Collective
