Just been into Cranes to get some advice about learning to play the electric guitar, I was hoping to just not be frowned upon, but instead I was welcomed in and shown some awesome options to get going! I was also lucky enough to be looked after by Steve, who showed me first hand how awesome the kit was and blasted out some of my favourite riffs with ease! Truly humbled by the whole experience and I'll look no further for a guitar set up. Thanks guys, especially Steve, I'd pay good money to watch you play bro!
I've had my guitar for nearly 5 years, and the only time I'd pick it up was to hoover underneath it. Finally started to have lessons with Andy in Cranes, and fair play he's got some patience. In 3 weeks I've learned quite a bit, but the main thing is I'm not scared of the damn thing anymore. Looking forward to the lessons, so I can play more than just an awsome air-guitar. Plus, the guys in the shop are great. Simon helped my son, Nathan, pick out his birthday guitar and he's loving it and having lessons with Andy too. Cheers dude ����
I've been going to Cranes for years and I love it. The atmosphere is really relaxed, no pushy sales people. Easily the best music shop in Cardiff.
I like cranes, I especially like the people in Cranes, they're genuinely nice and actually advise you and, unlike some other shops, they don't swarm upon you like carrion, means you can actually have a look around and they seem to instinctively know when someone is about to ask for help, you know how Batman appears? They do the reverse and normally for me, put up with my dopey questions about pedals and chats about weird guitars.
In short Cranes is ace.

Great staff who care about what they sell and getting the right solution for their customers. Had contact with at least six of the team this week and they all provided a masterclass in customer service.
Great place. Knowledgeable, helpful staff who don't try to oversell and the complete range of instruments from budget to the highest specifications. Forget the 'net-try before you buy.
Cranes is the best. The staff are all friendly and they don't care if you just want to wander around and look at some of the stuff they have in stock. They are knowledgable when you need help with something specific though. Great place!

Crains is the best music shop ever I get my guitar/bass FX peddles from them form vintage to modern mostly EHX they have it covered, top shop boys
Contacted Cranes about a bass guitar I was interested in. Mark answered all of my questions almost immediately and was really helpful. Placed order for the bass via the website and it arrived quickly, well packaged and with a very good setup. Excellent service and highly recommended.

Awesome shop with fantastic, friendly helpful staff. My son has guitar lessons with Andy and in the space of four months the amount he has learnt is great. Thumbs up all round.
Visited on Saturday morning, 3rd September, with my grandson who had a £500 budget to buy his first bass guitar and was really disappointed with service. Ended up going to Music Station out of town where the staff were really helpful and bought a guitar there. I don't usually bother to leave negative reviews but it was not a happy experience for a 14 year old who had been really looking forward to the day.
Not a single Fender bass in stock as for Rickenbacker, was literally told they are impossible to source. Was once a really good shop, but sadly its totally gone down hill. I would add that later found a place called PMT in St Mary St, wall to wall with both Fender and Rickenbacker.
