About Cranio Sacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is an extremely gentle form of holistic healing therapy.

Cranio Sacral Therapy Description

Craniosacral Therapy is a subtle and profound healing form which assists the body's natural capacity for self-repair. It is an extremely gentle form of holistic healing therapy, that doesn't involve any manipulation, therefore it's safe and suitable for all ages, from new-born babies to the elderly.

Craniosacral Therapy involves light hand contacts to ‘listen’ to the natural tissue and fluid rhythms, promoting the ability of the body to heal itself. The treatments work on a deep and powerful level with the anatomy and physiology of the body. For a gentle and holistic approach, a revitalising and health boosting experience, emotionally linked or stress-based body issues, painful conditions or sports injuries, a gentle and holistic approach.

After suffering with back pains on and off over the last few years, I have been told that I am suffering from Sciatica, a common type of pain caused by compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve.
In case anyone is wondering what the sciatica nerve is, it’s the longest nerve in the body, going from the pelvis, through the buttocks, down the legs to the feet. Sciatica usually affects only one side of the lower body. Often, the pain extends from the lower back all the way th...rough the back of the thigh and down through the leg. Depending on where the sciatic nerve is affected, the pain may also extend to the foot or toes. Having a slipped disc in the back is a most common cause of sciatica, but sometimes doctors do not find an obvious cause of the pain. Common symptoms of sciatica include: • Pain in the buttock or leg that is worse when sitting • Burning or tingling down the leg • Weakness, numbness, or difficulty moving the leg or foot • A constant pain on one side of the buttock • A shooting pain that makes it difficult to stand up The pain from my sciatica is infrequent and irritating, but has the potential to get worse.
Now I have tried every kind of therapy over the years to try and ease the pain in my back but I still keep returning to Craniosacral Therapy. It seems to be the only therapy that works.

Craniosacral therapy and Sleep Sleep is a form of nourishment, and a refuge from our waking lives, within which we may dream. Sleep habits, and attitudes to sleep, are formed in early life, and become built-in to our physiology at a level that is not readily accessible to conscious influence. At times of stress and illness our sleep pattern may break down. I am acutely aware that this can be profoundly distressing and disabling. However it is now widely recognised that Cran...iosacral therapy offers another useful way to approach sleep problems. Clients often describe CST sessions as having a sleep-like quality, sometimes associated with dream-like imagery. People often feel deeply rested after a session and experience more restful sleep afterwards. Longer term, CST can help with the deeper issues underlying difficulties with sleep; facilitating greater confidence in the natural process of letting-go to fall asleep, and greater trust in the restorative and imaginative powers of the body. www.craniowave.co.uk Tel: 077934 95730 E-mail: cranio.wave@yahoo.co.uk

CranioSacral Therapy for Mothers During pregnancy many changes occur, some of which can cause a strain on the systems of the body (eg. changes in weight, posture and gait, changing hormone levels, stress and anxiety). CranioSacral Therapy is very relaxing and reassuring and can help to reduce stress and physical strains associated with pregnancy. This surely must benefit the growing fetus as well as the mother. Childbirth can be stressful for mothers and babies both physically and emotionally. It is good for mothers to have Craniosacral Therapy after childbirth to help realign the pelvis and correct any strains caused by the pregnancy, birth and looking after the baby (lifting car seats, etc). CranioSacral Therapy is profoundly relaxing and can help diminish any anxiety associated with caring for an infant.
