We wanted to say a big thank you to the community who have been brilliant in offering their support to the Medical Practice over the last few weeks. We have had volunteers making us visors, donating extra PPE, offering to make scrubs and making us cards.
Thank you to Cranleigh Lions for the Easter egg delivery today- will keep us going over the Easter Weekend, where we will be here for you on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The biggest way for all patients to help us at the moment is to stay at home and stay safe!

We are following the advice from NHS England and Public Health England and changing ways of working. In order to minimise risk to patients and staff we are completing most of our consultations by phone or video link. If you would like an appointment please complete an online consultation via the website homepage www.cranleighmedicalpractice.com or book a telephone consultation via the NHS app. If you cannot do this please contact the practice by phone. If you have an appo...intment already booked you may receive a phone call to see if it can be dealt with by telephone or video link. If the clinician that telephones feels you need to be seen, this can be arranged. If you do visit the practice, please do not be alarmed if the clinician that you are seeing is wearing a mask or taking other precautions. To cancel your appointment you can do this on-line online or call the practice to do this for you. If you suspect that you may have Coronavirus (COVID-19) please stay at home and contact NHS 111 https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 or if you are unable please phone NHS 111 from any phone (it’s free), just dial 111. The situation is changing quickly. This post was correct as of 12th March 2020.

The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advise you what to do.
Use this service if:
... -you think you might have coronavirus -in the last 14 days you've been to a country or area with a high risk of coronavirus – see coronavirus advice for travellers and a list of high risk countries on nhs.uk -you've been in close contact with someone with coronavirus
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people. Call 111 if you need to speak to someone.
Further information and details of how to self-isolate are available on nhs.uk.
Like the common cold, coronavirus infection usually occurs through close contact with a person with novel coronavirus via cough and sneezes or hand contact. A person can also be infected by touching contaminated surfaces if they do not wash their hands.
Testing of suspected coronavirus cases is carried out in line with strict regulations. This means that suspected cases are kept in isolation, away from public areas of the hospital and returned home also in isolation. Any equipment that come into contact with suspected cases are thoroughly cleaned as appropriate. Specific guidance has also been shared with NHS staff to help safeguard them and others. Patients can be reassured that their safety is a top priority, and are encouraged to attend all appointments as usual.
Everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England advice to:
• Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel. • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
