We are happy to Launch our new Afternoon Tea starting on Tuesday 3rd April. From then you will be able to book from Monday to Saturday from 2pm to 5pm. Our April offer prices are £22 for 2 with Tea or £30 for 2 with Prosecco. Bookings must be made at the latest the day prior arrival.

Would just like to thank the wonderful staff for their hospitality, lovely lady behind the bar � Me and my partner got the BBQ Burger �WOW !!! definitely a must for a big appetite ,... saved me buying her tea ! � thanks �����

We went here Tuesday night for double birthday celebrations. 6 adults and 5 little ones . What a wonderful welcome from the landlord he and his staff could not have done more for us . The food is exceptional we all had different meals each one delicious. The children's meals spot on . Homemade pizza too ! Chips delicious. They cater for everyone. We were made to feel so at home even though we were a noisy party I guess . No room for puds next time main and pud . Oh yes starters wonderful too delicious bread . The only thing that worries me it is so so good will we be able to get a table next time ??? Lovely dining in the dining room too lovely and warm . We wish you well in your new venture but you don't need luck when you know how to run a business with great food . See you soon we hope . Great to have this great pub up and running again , and even better in our opinion thank you xxx

We both had steak - it was fantastic. Really well presented, hot and very tasty. The staff are really friendly. The service was excellent and great choice of beers. To cap it all someone who has finally realised dales pubs and dogs go together. Will definitely be back with our lab - even got home made dog biscuits to take home.

We ate here last Sunday and all had the carvery, except that my two daughters and I are veggies (only my husband is “normal”. Allegedly.). What a fantastic welcome by the young lady behind the bar! Totally unphased by three non- meat eaters, she was engaging and interested and went above and beyond to ensure that we were well fed and well looked after. The veg was perfectly cooked and the roasties and Yorkies cooked in veg oil, meaning that all three of us could have a proper meal. Apparently the meat was fantastic too ;). Veggie gravy was made to order, arrived very quickly and was delish. All in all, a great meal meant that we’ll be back as often as we can. Big thanks to all concerned xxx

Today’s pork T bone from the specials board was amazing! It sounded good so distracted me from the excellent looking carvery, and my goodness did it live up to expectations. Lovely staff both on the bar and waiting on, we will be back

Thank you to Oliver and his team for sorting out Mother's Day for us. The burger my nephew ordered was not quite right, no fault of the chef really (he likes it plain and boring)..it came eventually as he ordered. We all had Sunday lunch faultless and ordered deserts. The chef even made custard for us that was not on the menu. The atmosphere is more relaxed and happy..we will be back. I highly recommend this place to anybody and you deserve the success. .thanks Oliver..( you need a pay rise dealing with us lot) x

Stayed in one of the rooms with a view. Neat, simple, clean and comfortable. Very good value. The staff were superb from the gentleman who showed me the room to the staff that served breakfast. Best of all the breakfast was piping hot and wonderful - a proper English breakfast. Lots of choice and delicious. Thank you

Great welcome and excellent home cooked food! Huge portions as well. ( No tea needed!) Bright and fresh décor but not losing any of the traditional pub feel.

It is only 5 mins drive from Skipton town centre and a bit longer to walk up :)

Had afternoon tea today with my two daughters. It was absolutely delicious well worth the money. Everything was home made and lovely and fresh. Staff were very nice and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. Will defiantly be going again. Compliments to the chef xxx

For me to write a review is seldom but our meal here was just perfect. Attentive and knowledgeable staff, cosy table by the fire and truly the best 3 courses I've eaten in a long time. I initially thought the 63° egg was a gimmick, how wrong was I! Wow! We'll be back soon, thank you again.

Fabulous Sunday lunch today, so much beef I couldn't eat it all, cooked perfectly, great selection of veg, maybe serve it in a side dish, just too much on the plate! My daughter had the burger which was brilliant. Desserts were delish! Service was good. The menu is excellent, proper cooking! Will be back.

Excellent food and excellent service. If you're visiting Skipton you have to visit this place. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Try the belly pork and sticky toffee pudding chef is brilliant as are the other staff. Will definitely visit again

Came here last night for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and we had an amazing meal the food was excellent and the staff are so friendly and the service is great! The breakfast is delicious and it’s all very very clean! Would highly recommend and will defiantly be coming back . Thankyou to all the staff for making it so special �

Brilliant venue, the service was 11 out 10, Oliver deserves so much credit for the customer service as he always goes the extra mile! Chef Dan is a class act, his belly pork and short rib was just so, so tasty, and don't get me started on the sticky toffee pudding!!

Go on give this place a go, can't wait to go back!!!!

Beautiful lunch for 11 of us today. Plenty of variety on the menu (even for the vegetarians amongst us) using fresh ingredients. I really liked the cheese and onion pie. The only problem was the portions were so large we were too full for pudding! We’ll be back again soon.

Nice breakfast enjoyed the stay upper staff not very polite would have enjoyed my late meal better if there wasn't a dog scrounging food at the tables put me off after paying for a meal you don't need that the young waitress worked hard and very polite

The service was terrible when ordering drinks so decided not to bother with food. The barmaid didn’t know how to make a gin and tonic and poured 2 different types of ales in one glass. When leaving we said Thankyou to an older barmaid who completely ignored us.

A slightly strange experience for a number of reasons.

I understand the pub is under new management and perhaps some settling time is needed for staff to get used to things.



No option for garden peas on fish and chips which is fairly standard these days.

Hilariously huge meals and sharing platters but a woefully undersized goats cheese and onion tarte which I suspect was the official vegetarian option... it could have been a starter!!

Also it took three reminders for staff to bring a cup of tea that was ordered when we first arrived, and there was a mix up of our order.



I don’t want to say that the pub will always be as uninspiring as we found it but some readjustment, more staff training and adjustment of the menu should definitely be considered.

Last visited a month ago and it was fantastic . On this visit we were very dissapointed staff very rude if we asked them a question they just smiled and walked away. My chicken was slightly pink and the manager brought it back and said it was cooked but to me pink is not cooked . He never apologized . Yes he did take it off my bill but manners cost nothing . Will not be returning .
