Happy Easter to all of our Housemates đĽ
NEED EXTRA CASH? Socialising making a large dent in your student loan?đ
Got free time on your hands?đ
... Uni work under control?đ
Caught up on your sleep?đ
Well, the time may have come to find a JOB!! Could be part time, weekends, evenings, summer work, one off day work- any number of options!
Use your talents, personality and even your degree course!
Put yourself out there- youâve got nothing to lose!
â¨Bartender â always a popular choice- being paid to socialise!
â¨Barista â For all coffee lovers! Whatâs better than earning cash and enjoying free Lattes? ⨠Dog Walker-missing your pet? â get paid to walk our 4 legged furry friends!
â¨Administrative Assistant- check out the Uni, Colleges, GP Surgeries etc- always need an extra pair of hands!
â¨Tutor â tutoring and mentoring your peers and teaching high-school students is a great way for you to earn some cash!
â¨Retail/ Hospitality â always a good flexible option!
And loads of different opportunities
â¨So update that CV- get out there- keep going and it will pay off! There are many opportunities with many local employers, don't be shy, Scarborough employers are used to, and happy to, employ students just like you.
Although the paycheck at the end of the month will be useful, the benefits of having a part-time job while you are studying will outweigh the hard work.
You will develop great time management skills and will learn about responsibility which can be transferred in any future job prospects and will be attractive to future employers.

Your First Open Day ? A FEW TIPS!! đ Well, the time has come! Taking the next step can feel daunting and exciting at the same time. So a couple of tips to hopefully help you through the day or days ahead, depending on how many Uni visits you are arranging.
... 1) Be prepared! Have an early night!! Boring I know, but one night wonât hurt. It will be a long day, including travelling and meeting new people. Remember Open Days are there to showcase the Uni, Courses, Accommodation and give you an opportunity to see the area that may be your home for the next 3 years. So bring your âAâ game!
Recheck directions and Open Day timetables. Visit the University Website for details. List what you want to see and talks you may wish to attend. Remember the Uni can get very busy on Open Days.
2) Booking! Pre-book Campus Tours, Talks/ Lectures and Accommodation Tours where ever possible. At Crawford House, you can come on a Uni tour, or we always welcome a personal visit, by arrangement- just give us a call!â This will enable you to plan your day, and take some of the stress away, and hopefully enjoy yourself, and get out of the day, what you need.
3) On the day! â° Give yourself time to get ready and prepared, you donât want to be rushing or running late. Traffic in Scarborough is not usually too bad, but in the Summer it can take longer to get into the town. Carry some snacks and water, you may not have much time between events.Be flexible! Be realistic! All the best-laid plans can go awry, or you may see something that catches your eye on the day, and not on the list! Donât worry, take your time where possible, reschedule if needed and everything will be o.k.
4) Ask as many questions as possible! đ During a Talk or Lecture make notes- jot down any questions you may want to ask- you may forget otherwise! If possible ask on the day â remember the Uni is there to help you and want you to make an informed decision.
Enjoy it, donât be too scared for the future because going to see things and asking questions will allow you to make the best University choice for you!
So if you decide Scarborough is going to be your starting point for Uni life, then Crawford House Student Accommodation is the only place to be! đ

Cheer someone up today! đ University can be hard. Leaving university can be hard. Finding a grad job then actually having a grad job can be hard. You know what else is hard? Washing up! Somehow dragging yourself around a supermarket for a food shop. Maintaining good grades, exercising and eating well, all while keeping your room clean and remembering to water your plants/ring your parents etc⌠If you feel like youâve been struggling, look around. Youâre probably living in a ho...
