This burgeoning bond that I am developing with #JaguaInk is a genuinely pleasant surprise. While I am tweaking and testing out recipes that suit my drawing style I'm trying to explore a variety of design ideas. This was a paste test that clearly grew beyond my expectations! I taped it up and kept the paste on overnight. And now, 2 days since application, the stain has bloomed incredibly! Interrupting to update that my precious Grandma recovered enough to be discharged from hospital and returned home this week! She seems smaller than before - but I'm assured that she has retained vocal volume and also her apetite. We are all SO GRATEFUL! Many thanks to dearest Nimisha MehndiCultr for this very beautiful and touching #warlihenna tribute to my grandparents while we were at the @henna_huddle. It was a very emotional moment. We all did very well to not collapse in tears - I'm thinking of you!!

#Ganesha - the remover of obstacles, featuring a #jaguaink lace design from 2016 (WOW, time flies)! I had a play date today with @rayner.louise, @on.the.lash.baildon, @bizzilizziflowers and @mrspoppinz - When we arrived at our original location choice, we were accosted then fairly brusquely invited to leave and apply to be able to take photographs, subject to a location fee (we had researched and found no info re. applications for personal photography). Not to be deterred, we... simply relocated back to Louise's and where we cracked on with make-up, dresses, flowers, smoke bombs(!) and the most glorious crystals from @thecrystalbuddha. Keep your fingers and toes crossed that all our labour bears some wonderful fruits! [[This is the work of Kim Brennan]] I'm living in a blanket fort at the moment, powering through the post-conference-cold virus that has hit me after a long, immersive weekend at @henna_huddle. 3 days, with a 12 hour daily timetable was immense. Luckily (!) I managed to seduce @kimbrennanarts, knowing full well that Kim LOVES to create new and challenging ideas in #henna. Kim is the artist I aspire to be when I am a grown up artist. I asked her if she could do the #MonkeyKing... for me. "Do you mean #Hanuman?" Well..... not *quite* actually.... I mean the one in the Chinese #JouneytotheWest Legend. The truth is, I didn't have a full comprehension of #SunWuKong as a character. He has been re-enacted in a multitude of films, animations and even computer games. However as a michievious and cocky trickster god, with a magical extending staff, shoes that run over clouds and the ability to duplicate himself, I could never understand if he was a GOOD or a BAD guy. As a very righteous personality myself, I struggle to grasp the concept of a #naughtybutnice hero. My husband explained to me that Sun Wukong is definitely Good - he's just a bit naughty. (So naughty infact that Buddha locked him into a mountain for 100 years - that's one hell of a "time out") He is eventually released in order to accompany Tripitaka #XuanZang, along with #ShaWujing and #ZhuBajie deliver sacred Buddhist scriptures back to China. I observed that I think Sun Wukong struggles to follow authority and rules - to which a fellow huddler commented that in that respect, maybe he makes and follows his own rules.... which actually helped my understanding of him. With all of that aside, he reminds me a lot of my husband - super annoying, but intrinsically... Good....!

Me and my mum was at the York bump and baby expo today..... we both had a lovely hand henna art work done. I'm over the moon with my flower and skull work and smells lovely. I can't use lavender on my skin so the lovely lady said she had one made up with out lavender. Was very helpful and was so lovely. Thank you for my 1st henna x �� x
