We've been coming to Crete for over 12 years and always had a warm welcome from Nico and Theo and staff... The food is simply delicious and whenever there's something to celebrate we head here... Children are made so welcome which gives us a relaxed feeling too. We keep on returning year after year as they continue to improve with their Greek dishes ... Love it!

We have been regulars for many years, and our last visit was yesterday Evening, to celebrate my Brother's 40th Birthday here. It's an extremely popular Restaurant, and always busy, which in turn adds to the positively authentic atmosphere. We always book beforehand (just to be sure), but you can also turn up without booking and get a Table (although you may have to wait a short time). It's ideal for any Occasion, and Nico and his Team are superb Hosts: extremely friendly, welcoming, and they go out of their way to ensure that you have an amazing time, that you leave wantng to return, and that you leave having had a totally authentic Greek Dining Experience. There is a great choice of Food and Drink on offer, all competitively priced. There is an, "Early Bird", as well as a Regular, Menu, whilst the Childrens Menu is 3 Courses for £7. As well as individual Dishes, the Menu also contains Mezes (Greek Banquets). You aren't pressurised into hurriedly placing Food Orders, but once you do order, the Food arrived within an acceptable Time Frame, and is well presented. As is the Greek Way, you are not rushed into finishing Courses, and this adds to the enjoyment of the experience. If you are a Fan of Greek Food, but haven't yet eaten here at the Crete Taverna, then I strongly recommend that you do, and believe me, you'll be going back again and again!

We absolutely love this place and have been dining here since it first opened. Excellent food, kind friendly staff, such a relaxed atmosphere & very child friendly. We have lots of happy family occasions here. Our two children love it & like when we dine here.

This was my 4th visit to the crete and it was as lovely as the 1st. We ate off the early menu which is fanrastic value for money. The dishes are simply prepared which lets the flavours of the food shine thru. No need for an over fussiness on the plate. To compliment the food we had greek beer and a bottle of troodos red wine, which complimented the food perfectly. The service was swift, even tho we took a ciggy break after the starters, they waited for us to finish before the mains. We were not rushed. The waitress was attentive and only required me to look at her for attention and she was straight over. A good waitress in my eyes, she knew how to keep customers happy. The only thing I would like to see would be to have greek beer on draught, only to saviour more of it!!

Lovely atmosphere, very pleasant decor and seating. Staff very helpful and chatty. It is not situated on the main road, more round the back but thanks to a sign board on the main street pointing it out, we ventured round and were not disappointed. Wonderful evening, the food was delicious. Also the music was authentic and not too loud. Comfortable temperature,no draughts. Next time we are in the area we will be eating again here. Highly recommended :-)

Having recently spent a week in Crete and loving the cuisine we decided to try out the local Greek restaurant. It brought the memories flooding back. Stuffed vine leaves and the mousakka delicious plus the food came with complimentary feta salad and flat breads. Highly recommend and we will be returning.

Fabulous meal last night for Jim's Birthday. Our best Greek Meal outside of Greece. Lovely family run restaurant with lovely people. We will be back, thank you so much for a lovely evening.
