We totally agree @bortebest_bestabroad! We are so blessed to be situated next to the beautiful K&A and River Avon! ・・・ Summer days spent on the Kennet and Avon canal. Blissful, slow travel! The canals are not only beautiful, they are also an important part of England’s trade history. Originally constructed to carry coal and stone from the Western parts of the country to the East, they then fell into decline when the railways took over. Now, they’ve been rediscovered as wonderful waterways where the birds always sing and life is slow❤️ http://www.crossgunsavoncliff.com

You need to visit this excellent riverside pub restaurant to live a little

We biked here 10 minutes from Bradford on Avon stopped for a couple of beers then biked along to the Dundas aquaduct (spectacular) but just missed being at this place so biked back for another couple of beers

User

What an amazing place to have a drink by river! Living in Bristol it really does clear your head. Great scenery and wildlife. Oh and the sausage rolls are out of this world. Only let down is(which is nothing to do with this pub) is you have to cram like sardines on train home. Will definitely be back. New favourite place.

User

Stopped here today rather wet and muddy from our bike ride. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and not put off by our bedraggled appearance! Our food was delicious and tasty and presentation was great. The pub setting is well arranged and the decoration compliments the age of the building well, overall providing a pleasant and relaxing place to dine. I definitely recommend a visit following my experience. Plus if your lucky enough to have good weather there is a huge seated area outside by the river.

User

NYE this is how it was for me and about 20 boating mates And singers and musicians and dancers and boaters of all shapes and sizes rolled up! Thanks you wonderful folks for a fantastic evening. Oh the singing and playing, the dancing and the spilling of beer, the greeting and the grinning, the laughing and the crying, and there was hugging and a tiny bit of smooching, the glowing faces the bemused doggies, the lovely din of folks chatting and joking, the compliments, the admirations, the love so generous and wide it was amazing the room didn't just burst apart, unable to contain the good nature, the happiness, the care and concern, and the eats of veggie things and meats, the bumping into each other, the remaking of connections, the warmth of a good, big, unruly family, the making of future arrangements, the hopes and promises thrown into the New Year to be eagerly followed. Yes we will! Why don't we? Yes, more of this, on and on because this is how we live, this is how big hearted, kind, helpful, generous, grateful people live. And as we wandered happily back down the lane, the muffled sounds of joy continued, the sound of souls singing.

User

Lovely welcome. Us welshies were found a table during a busy Sunday lunchtime period! And the food was fab - look forward to coming back in a few weeks time :-)

User

Lovely place, lovely people, very welcoming. Food is great too, unless you like mcDonalds then you probably don’t want to be here!

User

Lovely lunch today in the sunshine - delicious sandwiches and beer!

User

Lovely food and a special mention for James for being very attentive to my friend's allergy to raspberries.

User

Love this place, try to get here at least once a month, no matter what the weather!

My daughters love its and even better when the weathers fab as it's just so gorgeous outside, though it's just as great being inside as you get to see the cheeky manager!

Foods always been good, from burgers fish and chips to a good hearty roast dinner followed by a scrumptious pudding, we've never been dissapointed!

Drinks are top notch, with a good variety on offer!

Keep it up and we will keep on coming back

User

Homely and inviting. Treats for the dogs. Perfect setting and great hosts

User

Had a spectacular New Year with the Cross Guns. Thank you Ian, Sam & staff for your warm welcome & hard work. The pub was rammed & jumping with the booze flowing - it was a wonderful night to be part of

User

Had a fantastic meal here last Friday night. The Beer Battered Haddock is out of this world! Cosy, warm-hearted pub with very friendly hospitable staff. Great ales and can recommend local cider Stoney Bonk. Thanks Ian, Adam, Ellie and Debbie for a wonderful couple of evenings. We’ll be back!!

User

Didn’t eat had a drink but lovely friendly atmosphere and stunning position .. great additions from 17 years ago when my boat first visited.

User

Called in today for a drink and a bite to eat. What a difference to the old days a warm welcome by the staff. Good beer and a nice Burger and chips as well. This pub is so much better than it used to be and I would recommend it. You won't be disappointed. Don't take my word for it the it for yourself

User

A lovely warm welcome today. Even though they were very busy, our meals were fab. Loved the fresh mint with my home made mushy peas, fish and chips.

User

Lovely small bite of free chocolate fudge cake with a coffee but your unable to purchase a proper portion. What a sales blunder.

Location perfect. Staff attentive. Food looks appetising. Clean.

User

Always a favourite of ours, but for a long time we felt it was in dire need of some money being spent on it and a good tidy up. I'm delighted that the new owners have done just that and the inside and outside improvements have made this a place to visit again. Great beers, very friendly and helpful staff and enjoyed some good food. Only thing stopping it getting 5 stars was the lack of some of the old favourites on the food menu - bring back Lasagna and the pub classics pleeaassse!

User

Waited an hour for food came out luke warm not impressed

User

Whilst the location is stunning and a must see if you are in the area, pub is filthy. The terrace has been refurbished after years of neglect, so was hopeful I would have a better experience. But refurbished actually just means covered up the dirt. It just as dirty as it has always been. I think I will go across to the coffee shop on the other side next time. Great view, but grubby.
