Went last night with my son his partner and my daughter for food, lovely cozy place very friendly, staff were lovely, even people that were in there having food and drinking, were all very friendly, food and service is good, would recommend

We stopped here for dinner yesterday travelling home from Bingley music festival back to Leicester after having seen its fabulous reviews. We were certainly not disappointed! Beautiful, quaint little pub on the moors with lovely, friendly staff and superb atmosphere and most of all absolutely delicious homemade food. In fact, our meals were so fantastic that we've said it would be worth the drive just to eat there again. Simply wonderful....my only sadness was that I was too full after my main course to sample what I imagine would have been a very excellent sticky toffee pudding, so I shall save that for our next visit 😊

User

The cross keys is a fantastic pub in a fantastic location, the staff are amazing, very friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is fantastic especially the minted lamb pudding, I wanted to lick my plate. Keep it up

User

The best friendliest pub in Uppermill food always spot on and the meat and cheese and onion pie is to die for

User

Our first visit today & found it to be a really lovely pub with great food! Staff were really friendly & helpful, and there was a great atmosphere. It was really busy, yet we didn’t wait long at all for drinks or food. The fish & chips was delicious! Will definitely be back!

User

Lost on the moors mountain biking dropped into this place and they were very helpful and the staff friendly great beers and the food looked fantastic but we had limited funds😩.. called a taxi for us to pick up our vans I would recommend this pub ..👍🏽🍺

I have always loved the Cross Keys, but after tonight's visit I love it a little more. The renovations are simply stunning, the staff, as usual were amazing and the food was gorgeous. Thank you for a lovely evening <3 and for putting garden peas on the menu for Phil ;)

Highly recommend

User

Been here twice now and the food has been perfect on both occasions and very good value for money. The staff are wonderful so helpful friendly and polite and the atmosphere is one of the best I would highly recommend eating out here.

User

A lovely pub, delicious roast dinner that was served on a hot plate so the last mouthful was almost as hot as the first! I had Bakewell tart for dessert and it was delicious! My niece had the chocolate cake with cream, a large portion with lots of cream. My daughter had the brownie which wasn’t as good as the other desserts as it wasn’t really a brownie texture it was more a sponge texture. However it was still eaten!! It’s a popular pub for walkers and is dog friendly. Lots of seating outside. A multi level play area is around the back, children need constant supervision though. They have a function room that is separate from the pub itself. Real log fires. The staff are lovely and very polite, attentive and helpful. They always offer to carry the drinks when I’ve ordered as I use crutches. It gets busy for Sunday dinner so turn up early!

We called in Wednesday evening after trying the Navigation in Diggle which was booked up.

We decided to try the Sharer for two and a portion of chips.

The Sharer was very nice but the chips were under cooked and quite hard.

When questioned, the staff advised there was a problem with the fryer which wasn't getting hot enough.

Still had to pay but no real complaints.

Would go back.

User

Very picturesque dog friendly pub and friendly staff. Cheese n onion pie disappointing. Chips good! Hot sticky toffee pudding with custard to die for. Just a shame about my pie.

Been coming here for many years and love the refurbishment. The staff were very chatty and helpful.

However, the original old door between lounge and Buckleys kitchen needs to be replaced immediately before it is lost for ever. My husbands meat pie was good but my fish was small, dry and served with the skin on - new one on me! Chips and mushy peas were good. Would have loved a coffee but others complaining it was luke warm from the machine and were offered instant coffee! Stopped going in winter because it was so cold in there i.e. central heating not on and fire was only lit after 12 noon so took an hour to get the room warm. Clientele was mainly retirees but loud rapper music was playing. We asked if they could put something more suitable on but were told by the bar staff "oh we can't do that I'm afraid from down here as it's controlled from upstairs" !!!

Would love to be able to continue visiting here but these irritations are just too much.

User

I was taken to the Cross Keys for a birthday treat by my daughter who has eaten here before and loved it. Unfortunately all four meals we ordered were either stone cold or at best luke warm and had to be sent back. The staff were very kind but it put a damper on the evening. I can only assume from reading the majority of positive reviews that there must have been some sort of mishap in the kitchen which happens from time to time. In short lovely staff but a disappointment regarding the food 😢

User

Shocking, booked 6 weeks ago and pre-ordered, they got the time wrong and had clearly lost our pre-order, after waiting an hour for our food we walked out. The landlord came down as we where leaving and clearly did not give a toss. It was made worse that the kids where all hungry and getting upset. Would never go again, and recommend anyone to give it a miss.
