Crossfit Cm2 Description

CrossFit is an effective strength and conditioning program that incorporates, Olympic lifting, compound strength training, basic gymnastics, plyometrics and metabolic conditioning such as skipping, rowing, sprinting. The workouts are short and intense and unlike at an ordinary gym every session is coached by an experienced instructor.

Our programming is designed to develop explosive power and nine other physical skills: strength, speed, agility, coordination, balance, accuracy, stamina, endurance & flexibility. Development of these skills transfers into improved athletic performance across a wide range of sports.

Great work from Paul in his first session since his Intro Course. Today we were working on Clean & Jerk and as Paul is still learning the movements the coach got him to focus on Muscle Clean & Push Press. Scaling in this way made the session less technical and allowed Paul to work on his pick-up, front-rack, and overhead positions; as well as feeing the right bar path. Having the guidance of an experienced coach as you go through thebeginner learning phase of any discipline will always speed up your progress. Paul did his part by staying focused and working hard and his lift improved massively from the start to the end of the session. The front rack position is key for developing solid technique on cleans, jerks, front squats, thrusters etc. Stretching / soft-tissue-work for the hands, forearms, wrists, lats, & t-spine can help improve your front rack. But the most important thing is an awareness of the correct position and that focused effort is to implement the technique as you train the lifts.

Part of our role as coaches is to help or athletes develop solid technique. The first part of that journey is a trust building exercise during which both the student and the coach acknowledge that any worthwhile process is going to take some time and consistent work to deliver meaningful results. The student agrees to work hard and implement the cues and suggestions and the coach agrees to advise, and encourage and adapt the process to the individual student. Developing a decent overhead position is a goal we have for all our members and these guys are nailing it.
