Had lunch with my wife today and I had the chicken goujons - the worst meal I can remember for a long time! A couple of the chicken goujons had so little chicken in them that I thought initially there was none. It was only when I dug into them with my fork that I found the thinnest, tiniest piece of chicken in there - so little that I couldn't taste it. And I mean SO little they looked like pieces of string (over cooked because they were so small) within sausage size pieces of batter. All of the goujons were 90% batter! And totally greasy with oil. Disgusting. The wedges/fries were also very oily - I'm not sure if it was the oil dripping down from the goujons or that they had suffered the same death-by-excess-oil preparation. There was about two teaspoons of oil on my plate underneath the food. I picked out the meagre amount of chicken (about three mouthfuls) from the goujons and left the greasy batter remains soaking in oil on my plate as I just couldn't stomach the oil/grease after the first couple of bites. After we'd finished I told one of the servers about my meal, showing her the pile of batter left on my greasy plate, but all she could say was "Yes I thought they looked a little ...", and then just said sorry. To be fair she didn't seem that interested. So not that it was bad enough that they served them in that state, knowing what they were like, but then obviously didn't give a rat's arse when someone consequently mentioned it to them. I only let them know in order to save someone else the same misfortune. I did consider sending them back after the first couple of bites (and after deconstructing the rest of the greasy goujons for the trace element of chicken) but didn't want to wait another fifteen minutes for another meal. We have eaten here previously but I would be very reluctant to do so again after this horrible meal and poor attitude to customer service. Shame.

turned up today to enjoy a cuppa and the best scone around, we had our pup with us in a carrying bag, asked if we could sit inside we were told no even when their out door tables were not out, thats us not calling all winter, its a shame but we can always go to cusworth park who welcome pets..

The range of quality plants and shrubs are the best we have seen in the area.
We regularly stay for a meal and always enjoy both the food and the service provided by the excellent staff.
