Wonderful place set on the side of a hill loaded with character. Fantastic food and great hearty menu. Don't drive past
Lovely place serving a wide range of delicious food. Good if your on a walk and you need to stop. Toilets are downstairs. Good place to meet up with someone.
Good pub / restaurant with a car park. The food we had was some of the most enjoyable we’ve had in the Lake District. The first beer I had was a bit off and cloudy but there was no problem exchanging it. Dog friendly. Good footpaths nearby for walks down toward the ferry.
There was a hiking party of about 20 in the place with everybody seeming to be ordering and paying separately - proper nuisance, but the pub seemed to be handling it very well.
We got here at 2 on a Sunday and it was surprisingly quiet. It’s a really nice pub. It has a good selection of local ales (about 4 I think). We just had the nachos and they were fantastic - good portion size! Great pit stop after a walk before heading back to the ferry.
Loved this place. It's beautiful inside, nice a spacious. It books up quickly but the staff were able to find us a table at short notice and were very helpful. The food was great and they had a better choice of ales than most places. Can't comment for the rooms but would happily eat there again and again.
One of our favourite pubs in the lakes. The food and beer selection is great they even have gluten free options.
The food is amazing, the beer is ok and the staff are great. The problem? The manager (or duty manager, whoever she is) who made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable here. Unfortunately there are no other places to eat in walking distance from our accommodation so we had to come back but it was reluctantly. If you can avoid her and deal with the other staff you will have a good experience.
Gluten free options on the menu and the beer/wine are excellent. Great place to head for after a long walk around Claife Heights. Lovely place to chill out after lunch once the rush has died down! Also make sure you book for an evening meal and it can get very busy
We had a lovely lunch at the cuckoo brow inn. Food was interesting, we had a 'Ferryman's lunch' which was like a Ploughman's but with different fish instead.
The ice cream was wonderful!
They have plenty of indoor and outdoor space with a little games area in the stables, lovely afternoon stop.
