About Cullinan Studio

Cullinan Studio are collaborative architects and masterplanners committed to restoring the connection between people and nature. Cullinan Studio believes that architecture is a social act, both in its creation and its impact on people and planet. This ideal, that it should be a force for good, underpins its work to this day. The practice believes that in a world that is ever more urbanised and led by technology, people need spaces to re-centre on what is important, reconnect with each other, and reconnect with the natural world. The late RIBA Royal Gold Medalist, Ted Cullinan, founded Cullinan Studio in 1965 on cooperative principles. The employee owned London-based architectural and masterplanning practice has created award-winning projects for Kew and Edinburgh Botanic Gardens, Cambridge and Warwick universities, and the BFI, with Maggie's Newcastle epitomising the practice's natural design philosophy. The studio works across all sectors and scales, from education to housing and workplace. Recently completed projects include 2019 Civic Trust Awards Commended Spring at Stonebridge Park, a housing regeneration scheme for Hyde Group, Wembley; 2020 Civic Trust Awards winning RHS Garden Hyde Hall Hilltop Complex comprising the Clore Learning Centre and the Hilltop Lodge restaurant and activities barn; the National Automotive Innovation Centre, University of Warwick, Coventry; and a new-build family home in Amersham.
