Our classes begin again on the 29th April - I'm looking forward to welcoming everyone from very new babies to the rather grown up 3 and 4 year olds in our preschoolers class!

I've just booked our tickets for The Folk Forest in Sheffield - it's a fantastic music festival with an amazing programme for under 3s (complete with dedicated child-friendly concerts, a lovely park and playground, forest school, bouncy slides and children's games...)
This is my little girl enjoying herself at their Forest School last year, in a sunny break between concerts!

Parenting win - creating a CD full of our favourite Tiny Maestros music, which my little girl loves... Parenting fail - trying to cut her toenails just as the cancan music starts!

User

We had a really exciting delivery full of hats the other day (all linked to songs we sing at Culture Tots) - I'm currently dreaming up ways to include them in our classes! Meanwhile my little girl is living most of her life as a pirate.

Feeling like I might have a teenager already... My three year old has just shut herself in her room listening to music. It's a new CD I just bought her from Funkey Rhymes - I'd highly recommend it. It's full of classic nursery rhymes but instead of the usual tinny electronic accompaniments, the music is played by fantastic classical musicians with orchestral and big band accompaniments.
I think she's enjoying it - sitting downstairs I can just hear the crashes of her jum...ping in excitement as a new song comes on!
As a side note, it's fantastic for children's musical development to be able to choose their own music - whether it's from a CD player, IPad or just asking for the songs they'd like you to sing to them. My little girl is loving being able to work the CD player herself and sharing her own musical taste with me!
What are your little ones' favourite songs? How do they listen?

Lovely conversation with my little girl just now - she's been shut up in her bedroom listening to a song CD with her teddy. She sneaks up to me holding out Teddy's arms. 'Something bit our fingers!' So I kiss Teddy and her fingers better. 'Oh no, was it a fishy?' 'Yes.' 'Did you catch it alive?' 'No, we let it go.'
... (Two hours later) 'Something bit our fingers!' 'Was it a fish?' 'No, it was a fishalive! I let it go.'

My little girl at the end of a musical marathon of 3 Easter Egg Hunts yesterday! She was fantastic, enjoying the magic and music of each session...
She's going to be taking a break from classes at the World of Wonder for a while, since she'll be helping me with my next adventure - Preschool Songs our new class for preschoolers. I'll be sad not to have her with me for Toddle Songs (it's the end of an era) but she's more than ready for the musical challenges and independence of the preschoolers class.
If you have a 3-4 year old and you'd like to chat about whether Preschool Songs might suit them, do pop me a message!

What a fantastic day of Easter Egg Hunts, bunny hopping and sparkly lights! Thank you to everyone who came along - it was lovely to meet so many new families as well as old friends!
I hardly took any photos, but if you caught a good photo of your little one, I'd love to see it! Do share in the comments.
We're on holiday now until 29th April! If you'd like to join us in the new term, we currently have spaces at all our classes. You can find out more and book at www.culturetots.co.uk

User

Went to sensory songs Teddy bears picnic themed session today at world of wonder. Absolutely fantastic session lovely setting and brilliant songs and sensory lights. I’d recommend any parent with baby to attend there is so much learning to be gained from attending such places for sensory song group. It’s a wonderful resource that needs to be used wish I lived nearer hull

User

We finally managed to get to a class (been meaning to go for ages) - so glad we did !! Absolutely brilliant and at the most fantastic venue, thank you ! X

User

We did tiny maestros and this class was definitely different! Classical music combined with toys and singing for babies what's not love?! Anna is very friendly too and you're made to feel very welcome

User

We (myself and my 17 month old boy) went to our 2nd Culture Tots class today - Mini Maestros at Victoria Dock (Village Hall). It was fabulous and my boy fell straight asleep afterwards so it did the difficult job of tiring him out! It was really lovely to experience a group that used a different genre of music, apposed to the usual nursery rhymes/pop music. I loved watching my little boy running round the big space enjoying himself and using his imagination encouraged by the music and Anna (who leads the class). He also joined in with lots of the animal noises and actions/gestures so it was very educational too.

Can't wait to take him again. Thank you Anna :)

User

Really lovely well thought out classes. My 3 month old daughter loves the sensory experience especially when the lights go out and the room is filled with twinkly stars. Anna has a beautiful voice and we love the songs x

User

Really fantastic class, wonderful teacher, who obviously puts a lot of thought into the finer details of the class, lots of fun for a range of baby ages. Relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming.

User

My toddler and I really enjoyed the Tiny Maestros class. It was fun filled and varied. Anna is knowledgeable and explained the music in an energetic way. I don't think there is anything like this class around. The setting is amazing too. Keep up the good work!

User

My little girl loves the classes, she is fascinated by the different lights when it's dark, she loves all the activities with the lycra but her favourite is the musical instruments. I like that she can try out different things every time we attend a class but moreover love the amazing variety of songs.

User

My 7 month baby and I love attending Sensory Song & Tiny Maestros. Anna delivers the classes with much enthusiasm and passion, and puts a lot of thought into the programmes being a mum herself. I throughly enjoyed the session were she played her violin and could play any tune you requested, very talented indeed! The classes are held in a very unique and lovely venue, World of Wonder - Hull Community Church. A great way to bond with your baby/toddler whilst meeting other babies & mums too.

User

Lovely, friendly, well thought out baby class. My daughter loved it, especially the parachute and sensory scarves. Can't wait to go again.

User

I took my baby along this morning for the first time to two of the groups to try and decide which one would be best to attend with my baby, hard decision to make has both classes were brilliant and my baby responded well to both classes. I would recommend this to people who want to try something that is different to play groups etc, the live music is a great experience for the babies and lovely for babies to experience classical music too. We will look forward to coming back

User

I think it's really important to introduce children to classical music, as part of their all round music education. Tiny Maestros is doing a great job of doing this and making it fun :-)

User

I love classical music and this is something I was looking for since I've read articles about studies on classical music being helpful for brain development. Relevant to small children, friendly atmosphere, good physical and mental stimulation... We really enjoyed the class and I will recommend it to my friends. It's true it's not the cheapest one but well worth of investment for my child! Class was well prepared and flowing nicely, we all felt relaxed.

User

I have found all three classes really beneficial to both my 4 month old and my 2 year old. I have attended lots of playgroups and haven't come across one like this before, so I feel that it's a really nice alternative to your regular type of playgroup. Both my son and daughter enjoy it, so we will be continuing to attend. We particularly loved the session with the cello.

User

Had another lovely session this morning. Was a bit anxious as my lg was been a bit grizzly today but she was happy through out and was laughing under the parachute at the end. Will be going again οΏ½

User

Culture Tots runs lovely classes which are so well-planned and thoughtful. My baby responds really well to the music and sensory activities. A great way to start the week!

User

Culture Tots are amazing parent and baby/toddler sessions. I attended one on Thursday and there is no one more suited to this than Anna. She is amazingly passionate about the benefits of music for children and delivers the sessions perfectly. I would highly recommend trying a session which is unique - you won’t find this anywhere else for sure

User

Anna has started a group of different classes under this brand. She is at the beginning of a potentially great and unique baby sensory and development classes incorporating live music and other interesting elements like sling sing. Great venue at the world of wonder too, never knew it even existed until now.
