Girl, 4, hit by car
A CHILD was hit and run over by a car at Lowther Caravan Park, near Penrith, last night.
Emergency services, including a Penrith BEEP Fund doctor, were called to the scene at about 10pm.
... The four-year-old child was helped out from under the car by passers by who are said to have “lifted the car off her”.
Dr Theo Weston said: “She suffered a variety of injuries which were treated at the scene by the NWAS paramedics and the BEEP Fund doctor, who then travelled in the ambulance with the child to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.”
The girl remained in a stable condition during the journey to hospital and has since been transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, for further specialist care.
