We use this hotel for our modern linedance events on a regular basis Elaine who is the manager is very thorough and efficient in dealing with any adaptations we may require for our couple of people who have disabilities and great when dealing with the whole package of running an event. We have been going to the Cumberland for a number of years now for Masonic Ladies festivals Elaine and her team are top draw especially our favourite member of staff Sharon we have been to other hotels in other places,but have yet to find one to match the Cumberland,well done all keep up the good work,and see you next year.

Our 4th year here we come every year with the Masons and have the whole of the hotel staff are amazing nothing is to much for them.
My husband and I married at The Cumberland in March this year. We had our ceremony and reception here and it was absolutely perfect in every way. Elaine and all the staff were amazing throughout and pulled all the stops out on the big day.
The day went without a hitch and everyone went above and beyond to make it stress free for us. All our guests commented on what a lovely place the hotel is.
We had quite a lot of guests staying at the hotel as they travelled down from the North and they were all really happy with their rooms.
My husband and I had the most amazing suite with a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. Just perfect!!
I have recommended The Cumberland to so many people for a wedding venue as it is simply perfect and they don't need a second mortgage to wed there!!

Had a great Vages wedding party here downstairs on the 12th Aug 2017 staff where great from the moment we came in to book right up to time we checked out, nothing was to much trouble. ...many thanks.
Excellent location..a wee bit dated..but older worldly feeling..had to pay extra for sea view which was great..shame we didn't know about car parking fees? οΏ½

Very smooth check-in lovely place, brilliant view of the sea, friendly and pleasant staff.
I found my room at the Cumberland very comfortable - it also had a large bright bathroom - the only fault i found was the creaky floors , the noise from the rooms above was awful ,and i expect the people in the rooms below me must have suffered too ! The food was good,. and staff especially at reception were very helpful

Called the day before to book afternoon tea and advised I have food allergies.
When we arrived, I was pleased to see that I could eat all the selection we was given.
And it was lovely.

Good location for people watching. I've had better cream tea's in Eastbourne. They did not offer us a 'doggy bag' for left over cakes. Poor wheelchair access.
Excellent location. Sea view from room and bar patio superb. Yes it is dated but has loads of character. Shower not the most powerful but it was hot any time of day. Staff were very friendly. Live music in the evening was a great bonus. Wonderful little touches like an Easter Egg under the teacups in the morning. We have stayed here before and will return - despite the creaky floorboards.
Always a warm welcome from the staff, and nothing is too much for them. It's the third time my wife and I have stayed there, the first being our honeymoon three years ago, and each time we have enjoyed our stay - I would recommend the Cumberland Hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Eastbourne
