At Kendal Deaf Art Group
A lovely session today by crafts group were drawing in crayons and using to add colour, first we had a warm up drawing to different themes, so bold, deco and rounded. It was lovely Sunday today. The group were enjoyed it.

A lovely session today by crafts deaf group were carrying on with different projects, some were crochet snowflake, making wreath fabric scrap garlands with a very christmassy. The group were enjoyed it.

Job Vacancy – Community Development Project Co-Ordinator
30 hours per week
Salary: £23,698 per annum (pro-rata)
... Based in our Barrow-in-Furness Centre, we are looking for a suitably skilled, qualified and experienced person to co-ordinate our Community Development service. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the Cumbrian Deaf community and will possess communication skills to work with all sections of the community including Deaf, deafened, deafblind and hard of hearing.
The role involves helping the community to bring about social change, improve the quality of life in their local area and empower them to:
* Identify their assets, needs, opportunities, rights and responsibilities
* Plan what they want to achieve and take appropriate action develop and manage activities and services to generate aspiration and confidence.
* As Community Development Project Co-ordinator you will act as the link between the community and a range of other local authority and voluntary sector providers, such as the police, social workers and teachers.
* You will frequently be involved in addressing inequality and addressing cultural, economic or geographic disadvantages.
* You will have experience of identifying and submitting funding applications.
* You will have experience of developing and providing educational programmes including Deaf Awareness and Sign Language.
