Cumbria Grand Hotel

A really great stay...the grounds and woodlands are wonderful...the room, although a little tired, was very clean and comfortable. The food is massively improved and the staff are friendly and efficient. I will definitely return.

If you are looking for a relaxing quite break then the grand hotel is the place. The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms are clean and big the food is very nice and not bad value for money

Loved it. Food, service and accommodation lovely. Very charismatic. Had its own woodland walk and the views of the gardens and bay were very nice. You can even take your dog. Would certainly like to visit again soon

Lovely setting. Just stayed here. A lot of history here and I love that it hasn't lost its character by modernising everything.

They should definitely fly a union jack from the roof flag pole to make the place look even more prestigious.

Peacocks were lovely to look at too.

This hotel has so much potential as the views are amazing and the location is brilliant but it is in desperate need of revamp. We paid £144 for a twin room and it was beyond disappointing, so dated and felt dingy. They did upgrade us to a suite on the top floor which was a great size but still needed some tlc. Breakfast was also disappointing as a lot of the hot food was empty, one lady was very helpful but the chef was very rude. I definitely would not go back unless they updated the hotel. Such a shame as it could be a gem.

It's OK. Nothing to shout about but OK. The food was much better than expected.

Called in for lunch with my mother. The food was delicious and plenty of choice for a lunchtime menu. Excellent service too. Highly recommended.
