The stunning promenade that takes you from right across the road of the hotel and into the village itself. Thank you to previous guest, Brian Clift, for the photograph. We love seeing memories of your stays.

User

we have just come back from Cumbria Grand after one nights stay, It was just simply a treat to ourselves for one night and it was wonderful. The hotel is spotless the staff are really lovely and helpful. We just wanted one night away to feel special and to be together after the winter and that is exactly what we got. I have never fallen in love with a building before but I truly love it.x

User

We very lucky to have chosen the Cumbria Grand for our wedding 2 weeks ago. From our first visit to the hotel right through to the big day, all the team at the hotel were fantastic. The food was beautiful and all our guests couldn't believe it when they got to choose their courses (all 3) on the day. The ball room really was a ball! Fabulous stage for the band, loads of room for all our guests on the dance floor and apparently the pie and pies were gorgeous, just a shame we didn't get time to have any. Only one complaint......the day wasn't long enough. Can't recommend this place enough for your special day.....it has real elegance and charm. Thank you Mark, the Cumbria Grand will always hold a very special place in our hearts. We wish you continued success xxx

We stayed here 3 nights for my sisters wedding last weekend and can honestly say that from the minute we arrived to the minute we left we enjoyed every bit of this hotel. The staff were truly amazing and catered for your every need. There was a good selection of food at breakfast that would suit anyone's requirements. Don't waste your time looking at other hotels in the area this one is the best in my eyes. I would also just like to say a massive thank you to the manager for making my sisters and brother in laws wedding so perfect. Hopefully we will be back soon. Say hi to the resident peacocks from me they are a great addition to the hotel.

User

We had our wedding here on the 4th November, from start to finish all the staff were so friendly and helpful, the staff went out of their way to help with every query or request we had. All of our guests loved the venue. The day was perfect, even the sun came out ļæ½. the food was amazing, day and night, i have never had an evening buffet like that before and i can safely say it was demolished and there was not much left. Thank you so much for making our wedding so special, we cant wait to come back ļæ½

We arrived on 3rd July for a 4 night 5 day stay , all 35 of us from Age UK Croydon. Since we arrived everything has been wonderful! My Elders have said this is the best hotel they've stayed in. The rooms, the food, buffet style but tasty and the grounds all make a package of happiness! This includes #ericthepeacock who struts his stuff on the grounds outside the dining area. The Staff are helpful and have a warm welcoming smile. #Mark #karen #Gregg thank you for making our stay with you extra special. Hope to visit you all again #LoveLife

The location of the Grand hotel is lovely - Grange Over Sands - the sea is close by, a long beach, perhaps only a quarter of a mile away which provides a stunning view and can be seen from many rooms and when one is walking around the hotel gardens. An old hotel by all accounts but with modern furnished rooms. Bathrooms/showers/carpets appear new. A nice bar area with function rooms & Breakfast dining areas. Good parking areas, the length of the hotel is notably very long so plenty of parking bays. I just wish I had explored the area more. I was there for a wedding of which this hotel was the perfect setting with good service throughout the whole day by the hotel staff. 5/5

My family has been holidaying at this hotel for over thirty years - three generations have ejoyed staying here. The staff are like an extended family, especially Lucas and Michael; nothing is too much trouble. Although some parts of the building are looking a little tired they are doing a great job of refurbishing. The views are stunning whatever the weather and the gardens are always well kept and a joy to sit in. The breakfast sets you up for a day full of walks and sightseeing around the beautiful Lake District, Setting you up for the delicious and varied meals in the evening. We'll done to you all for making our family holidays full of happy memories.

User

Me and my husband stayed here for our anniversary and we would definitely recommend it and stay again. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Our room was very grand (a 4 poster suite) and had an amazing view. The hotel bar was lovely and the feel of the place was very relaxing.

User

Just on our way home from an over night stay here to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. It was lovely, the food was very nice and decent helpings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean and comfortable with a great bathroom. The hotel is just beautiful and is very quiet with a resident peacock. Definitely come again great value for money and Grange-Over-Sands has a lovely promenade to walk the lovely 3 course meal. X

I have just stayed here for 4 nights through the week with my family of 4 staying in the Arnside suite which had stunning panoramic views of the bay on the second floor. Most of the customers of the hotel are of the older generation although the mixture of the younger customers meant the ambience was always pleasant. The staff are also very pleasant and the hotel itself is well kept, the suite consisted of a 2 large bedrooms and one large bathroom which were spacious and perfect for us with TV's in both rooms. The food was also good, full cooked breakfast in the morning with options of cereal\yogurt with drinks if you wish, dinner consisted of 3 courses with a different menu each night and the staff will meet your requests if the menu is not to your choice (or to the Children's choice as in our case), bar meals were also available in the bar area, we also had packed lunches each day which consisted of 5 items including a sandwich and a drink. The bar area is pleasant and spacious with two of the of four nights having entertainment on which was good. The hotel grounds are very well kept with walks and a children's play area near the tennis court and putting green with equipment available free from reception who were also lovely. WIFI in the hotel was excellent, and the games room within the hotel consisted of a snooker\pool room and darts board. There is also a small room near reception with books and board games etc which was good to relax in. Parking is also ample with a small number of shops just a mile down the road also not far away. Windermere is only 15mins away by car to get you to the steam train\aquarium and to the boats that take you up and down the lake which are good. We also came across Fell Foot Park which is a perfect open green space for families allowing shallow access to the lake at Windermere near Lakeside perfect for swimming with the children including the use of inflatables, we hired a kayak and a paddle board (Ā£10 per hour) from here which was good fun, there is very little current and a perfect spot to try this. We also visited the Motor museum at Lakeside which we really enjoyed and spent a few hours wandering around the various cars and motorbikes, the cafe near is also worth a visit for the cakes alone! I would definitely go back both just as a couple with my wife and the entire family.

User

I had my wedding reception here this weekend and also stayed for two nights (first with my bridesmaids, second with my new husband) and can not fault a single thing! All the staff were amazing as was the food and the beautiful venue. A massive thank you to Mark for making our day so perfect xx

User

Huge thanks to all the staff at The Cumbria Grand for our second marvellous stay in the last few months. This has always been our special place. We love the Saturday night lady DJ that has kept us in the bar area and entertained, love the spacious beds, love that we can access the town so quickly and love every corner of the building and gardens. We will be back soon.

User

User

Fabulous wedding at the weekend in the ballroom which looked beautiful. Greeted on the lawn with drinks and canapƩs. Lunch was great. All the staff were amazing all day, nothing was too much trouble. The evening buffet was one of the best I've ever had, the choice was incredible. After having my own wedding there 28 years ago I still wasn't disappointed what an amazing venue beautiful garden and lawn for photos. Would highly recommend.

User

User

All I can say is Fabulous.. went with Headway Preston & Chorley.. afternoon tea was fantastic and service was first class. Thank you.

User

This hotel is beautiful if a little worn in the public areas...

My fiancƩ and I stayed for just the one night, thankfully it was the Friday as there was a wedding being held there on the Saturday and some of the bridal party were a little loud... however our stay was lovely.

I have one little gripe, I had booked for the Superior Double room on the ground floor with bay view...We ended up on the 2nd floor in a room (although clean and with a stunning view of the bay) at the back of the building overlooking the bins. The room was spotless the bathroom was very small and the shower was a bit too compact for my fiancƩ...also when I booked it stated there's free toiletries...no there wasn't.

All in all the place is lovely, staff pleasant, food very good..just check you get the room you want before arrival.

User

Our visit to the Cumbria Grand Hotel was part of my 60th celebrations. We were put on the ground floor as requested, however the room (21) just happened to be situated over the laundry room. Iā€™ll come back to that. I have to say the place itself is stunning the grounds, the views, the service and the food, we had no complaints. However; and this is were I get back to the laundry room. We had, had a very enjoyable first evening and toddled off to our room about 11ish, we watched a little television for a bit and didnā€™t think much of the rumblings in the background, until we came to go to sleep. The noise from the laundry room was shocking it was the tumble dryer which continued until 2am. This is were I have to give the hotel their due, I complained the morning after and was profusely apologised to and told it would not happen again. True to their word our second night was blissfully quiet. Food for thought for the hotel management. Maybe itā€™s not such a good idea to put what is classed as a ā€˜Superiorā€™ room over the laundry room.
