Promise In Prevention


With the standard of oral health being largely affected by lifestyle factors and lack of patient education, for many, prevention is the key. As a result we are seeing more focus placed not only on products and treatment that support this area, but also a rise in specialist teams and clinics.

Here Patricia Adam, Practice Manager of Curaden Dental Clinic in London – one of the first flagship Curaprox preventative clinics in the country – explains the reasoning behind the set up, the services that it offers and how minimising problems is the answer to long-term quality of oral health.

Our Aim
At Curaden Dental Clinic our objective is simple. By offering a range of treatments tailored specifically to our patients’ needs and encouraging them to perform an effective daily oral care routine, we hope to provide them with the best dental care possible. In doing so we are likely to not only see better oral hygiene, but an increase in the longevity of our patients’ natural teeth.

From past experience and having seen and spoken to many patients, we have been able to establish what makes a good or bad trip to the dentist. By taking potential causes of dental anxiety into consideration as well, we have created what we think is a safe, welcoming and relaxing clinic.

All in all we encourage our patients to be proactive and in control of the decisions that they make regarding their oral care – we are just there to guide them. Our clinic allows them to come in, see how we work and lets them make the final decisions themselves. The way I see it, it’s time that we give the power back to our patients.

Thus in line with the services we provide – which include general dentistry, orthodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics and dental hygiene, as well as preventative dentistry – we are looking to host regular ‘open evenings’ in the forthcoming months. In doing so we aim to not only empower and educate our patients, but we hope to spread the message that maintaining oral health is about striking the balance between regular check-ups and dental hygiene.

Opening The Clinic
Before we opened as a flagship Curaprox preventative clinic on 1st June this year, we felt there were some changes that needed to be made to the existing premises, resulting in what became a fairly long renovation period. Even though it took much longer than initially planned to open our doors to the public, we are extremely pleased with the final result and are really proud of what we have created for our patients.

Ultimately, renovating and opening the clinic has been an amazing experience for us. We have learnt many lessons along the way, felt better for it, and by creating an environment that is warm, friendly and modern, our patients can now enjoy the positive and educational experience that they deserve.

Patient Base
In addition to the many new registrations we have taken on, the majority of our previous patients have also returned to the clinic. What's more, the feedback that we have had – regarding everything from location to décor to the service that we provide – has all been extremely positive.

Ultimately, running as a flagship clinic has enabled us to offer the best products to our patients, and therefore the best care. From toothbrushes to toothpastes to interdental brushes and more, the benefits that Curaprox products offer our patients are paramount to what we are trying to achieve. It’s been an amazing journey so far and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings us.
