The Chelmer Valve Co Ltd was started by ex Marconi engineer Mr Leslie Ferguson Berry in 1961, specialising in Marconi transmitter spares and electron tubes. Mr Berry set the foundations for a company that now spans six decades. Harry Rosenbaum, an ex Marconi engineer and his wife Colette Rosenbaum, née Berry took over the running of the business, diversifying into semiconductors and transistors. The Chelmer Valve Co Ltd was acquired by UK Electronic Components Ltd, Imran Khan and Saima Khan, née Anwar. With over 40 years combined experience in the electronics industry gained from working in distribution and contract manufacturing companies and changing the Company name to CVC Chelmer Valve Co Ltd.
