We are developing an innovative early warning system for attacks through real-time monitoring of high value targets for malicious behaviour in very large network and traffic environments, such as IoT and Smart Cities. Our system raises early warning by applying a Bayesian-based framework to systematically analyse indicators associated with early stages of such activity. This provides the defender with 3 key advantages: early warning; the ability to prioritise resources and countermeasures; and a solution that overcomes the challenges of network and attack temporal scale.
